Mystery Particles

Hey, Don, physicist may found a new subatomic particle that doesn't fit into their current theory of particle physics, which is called the standard model. The us a giant particle accelerator? The large Hadron collider in Europe. Now, the researchers used an instrument floating beneath a balloon over and Artika Arctic. Oh, really, yes. Really? The physicists made the discovery with an instrument called the Antarctic impulsive transient antenna or Anita Anita is designed to be carried into the upper atmosphere by a helium balloon and to detect the radio waves that are emitted when high energy cosmic rays from space strike, the Arctic ice sheet. Researchers learn about the properties of cosmic rays by studying these emissions, but what they found was something stranger. What was ago? Well, they found that some of the radio waves they detected weren't from cosmic rays coming directly down from space. Instead, the particles were blasting up from inside of the earth, the strange and unexpect-. Fid phenomenon has been confirmed by different ground-based detector in Antarctica, the particles or neutrinos neutrinos are subatomic particles. That physicists no are produced by the sun and other bodies in space. They're almost transparent other matter and can pass right through earth. Researchers do think that the particles ultimately come from space and that they pass through the earth. But in a twenty eighteen paper a team of American physicists argued that. They couldn't be exactly like neutrinos or any other particle currently known to physics. They remain a mystery. This moment of science comes from Indiana University. I'm Don glass, and I'm Yahya Cassandra.
