We're just two months in a few days away from election that's going to have an enormous impact. Now and for the foreseeable future. This could be said to be the case for many president elections but the choices before us in this election they're they're different and it doesn't come down to just personalities Abidin, or trump there's a lot more at play and this country hasn't been this divided since the civil war in the center ring of the Conservative Circus we have our sick constitutional expert, Jeff. And Jeff. I. Wanted to ask you about your latest piece because we talk about this during our constitution conversations, which can be heard of you download the free iheartradio APP and get that podcast. But. You are doubling and tripling down on this idea of that we need to go into this election with open is because of what is at play? Absolutely James T you know it's monsoon season, and although every time the sky's get cloudy and start to form every time that happens it doesn't rain and thunder, but it certainly is a tell tale sign that it could come and I think we need to be reading the tea leaves James T that you know record levels of voting by mail this year, the the pandemic, the potential abuses of fraud with universal mail in voting across the country especially in states that aren't used to it the ballots, the post office issues the riding in the streets that have taken place breakdown of law and order the de-fund the police mantra. Trump all this false narratives going about is setting the stage in the kindling is ready to go, and so we would be foolish not to prepare for. You know what you know in my opinion is probably going to happen on election night or the days quickly thereafter. Jeff this week in the president began his press conference by wishing the press well, and saying that he hoped they had a good convention. The implication was that it was their convention. That's what we're up against. Isn't it? The vast majority of the media is pushing this country in a direction at one has to ask how can we beat it? You say we should be prepared for a contested election. What do we need to do to be ready for that? I absolutely look I. Think we need to be prepared because the stage is set James T and we know even from two thousand sixteen that it was pretty close in three to five states, and if you do a lot of mail in ballots that are gonNA take days or even weeks to be sent in, you're going to be there's going to be mayhem and neither side is gonNA capitulate. The rhetoric is going to ramp up and I am worried about. In the street, especially because the writers have gotten away with so much so far without a lot of pushback that they kind of tested the water so to speak and I. Think that they can get away with more. So we just need be prepared. How are we gonNA react if it is a contested election I mean obviously, the best case scenario would be an outright win by trump where there is no you know contesting of that and second best quite frankly might be an outright win with. Biden. Because that's probably the most piece resolve but don't get me wrong I don't want that but I really think it contested elections probably most likely and so we have to be ready be be should be ready as if a hurricane or storm is coming be prepared in think about what we're going to do where we're GONNA go and how we're going. To react not in panic stage but don't be shocked by it stand firm and know how you'll play this out. Jeff is is an instructor at the leadership and Freedom Center. In Gettysburg Pennsylvania, he's also my party into constitutional conversation which you can listen to just download the free iheartradio APP to hear that podcast Jeff I was just talking to someone before we started our conversation and he was saying, you can guarantee it that president trump is going to lose in the popular vote. He was saying there's no way he would win the popular vote. It would even predictably worse than last go around and I don't necessarily doubt that abut the our our elections are decided on the electoral vote. And the president ends up winning that to your point. There still could be chaos because we are so misinformed as a nation of the difference between the electoral vote and the popular vote and and it seems to me that the Democrats continue to to miss informed complaint that. Absolutely well, look the results of two thousand sixteen never really been accepted by the other side they've done everything they can to tear this president down. His legitimacy down and have used hey, he lost the popular vote. If it happens again, this year and I, agree it may happen if it does it'll be another reason for them to try to contest the vote and so all the fingers are pointing trump saying from the other side saying, Hey, you know he wants to either postpone the election saying there could be fraud and he's not going to abide by the results I think it is more likely that the left will not abide by these results. James. But the worst case is for us to capitulate for peace we need to stand up and fight for what is right and obviously if trump legitimately loses james t we have to prepare for that if that happens as well. So it's just a good idea to be prepared in her mind not trying to so any type of panic or craziness James T, but it's always wise if we see the the storms gathering to take shelter and figure out how we're going to to whether this.
