Alabama executes man convicted in killing of 3 officers


Alabama has executed a man as an accomplice in the two thousand four killings of three Alabama police officers who were shot by another man Nathaniel woods died Thursday night from a lethal injection the execution followed the Supreme Court issuing a temporary stay to consider last minute appeals which had support from the son of civil rights leader Martin Luther king junior and others who argued it was unfair to execute him since he never pulled the trigger but the state of Alabama said woods was an active participant and later bragged about the killings in statements song lyrics and art Alabama governor Kay Ivey denied a request for clemency I'm my campaign
