Listen: Mike Mccarthy, Aaron Rodgers And NFL discussed on Speak For Yourself with Cowherd & Whitlock
"I think he hits back to the NFL. I think he hits back football. It'll be successful love Cheetos. I ain't trying to be. Thank you. Tony. Thank the Angelo. And why does in the Packers loss to the cardinals yesterday? And after the game Mike McCarthy lost his job. Mccarthy had been at the helm in Green Bay for thirteen years leading them to a Super Bowl win back in two thousand eleven but in recent years, the Packers have come up short in the postseason McCarthy's play calling relationship with routers have been called into question. I don't really have a problem getting fired. You don't know. I have zero problem with him getting fired at this point the season. I'd rather no sooner than later. I wouldn't wanna be Dead Man Walking for mum. Let me go. John coffee. Let me go. And I don't think this is disrespectful. He's gonna get all of his money of you know. And now he gets the start his next job hunt a month earlier, man, this captain scapegoat. This. Respect respect that you can run your business to where you want to. We all know that the organization has went through a restructuring last year. So so the balance of power of stairs has changed. And we all know when a new sheriff in town a lot of times they wanna implement their new way their new laws respect to that. But then you gotta respect who you're talking about as much as we give respect to one Aaron Rodgers for his greatness being a most talented quarterback. Today's NFL can't we starve respecting the coaches in the same measure when you talk about Mike McCarthy look at these numbers in terms of accomplishment, thirteen seasons nine playoff appearances, four NFC championship games and Super Bowl champion and only three losing seasons. And you see that losing season. You might start the thing. Oh my God. What to a fourteen no this year six and ten and seven nine. This is a coach that got fire midseason. That's only happened once in NFL history. This somebody had the audacity to. Fire a Super Bowl winning coach in the middle of the season. This is blatant disrespect laced with some BS of oh, I want him to get out there and get a head start on the coaching hunt. Oh, we can get time now to not make him a lame duck and get ahead in terms of our process when we all know that all it takes his executive search your agent to go out there and smell around. What's good for you, do not wrap it in lace it like you're doing him favor by letting them go early because all of those things could be handled now or after the season this is blatant disrespect. I mean, I think it was tough because Mike McCarthy to me is a really good coach the same breath. We talk about Aaron Rodgers being great. How did he become great thanking somebody had to help them get there? And so I think some of the things might McCarthy was doing offensively was a little stale unless stagnant. And so if he wasn't able to change his approach offensively, then I think in new voice needed to be heard you. We all have heard counted the rumblings in that building about the Mike McCarthy. In Aaron Rodgers relationship. There's not going anywhere somebody had to go. I felt like they probably should've waited too after the season because that man earnt earn the right to wait to after the season. But it doesn't bother me one way or the other. He was going to be fired. And so if you're going to do it why not go ahead, and do it all the way, it wouldn't bother me. If my McCarthy said, hey, guys wanna let me go. Let me go which I don't think that's the case. That's what I heard. So so, yeah, I have a problem with for sure I don't see why you would let him go in the middle of the season disguise pedigree. What he's done for that organization. It's ridiculous. He's talking about your Rogers, though, not not being creative. That was been the big talk like Nagy, I guess which Bisky you look at golf with McVeigh. You look drew Brees Andy Reid or come to these creative. Offenses. I don't believe that here. I don't know. I wouldn't inside the meeting rooms I first of all he didn't his Randall. Cobb was hurt drama was out. He's got rookie Saint John and Marcus Valdez guys rookies that are dropping.."
