Listen: Puget Sound, Seattle And Olympia discussed on News, Traffic and Weather
"Raining again, and it's still cold and that can add up to some tricky traversing out there. Most of us haven't seen the precipitation back yet. But it's on its way slowly. But surely, it's very light. But it's making a comeback. It's still bone chilling cold temperatures right around freezing in the south sound most of us just going to end up with a cool, light rain. But for some of us, we could see some freezing rain, maybe some sleet, some wet snow in the foothills most of this occurring in the next couple of hours when we're safely tucked in bed and the slippery driving will be a memory as we head into our Saturday morning and things start to warm back up. And we scour out the cold air is we're waking up tomorrow. But the next couple of hours in the short term could be a little tricky out there right now over downtown Seattle. There's another. Great wheel looking like a cold night for a spin on that. That's for sure it's forty degrees. Southerly winds that is a clue that things are warming up quickly. The southerly winds going to help scour out this cold air here eventually, but still a few hours to go before that happens completely and the radar picture. Definitely getting busy tonight tracking the return of the precipitation most of it showing up in this green shade. That's indicative of rain, but down below in many cases, the surfaces still freezing around forks and quilt. We have seen a mixture of rain and snow tonight. Now things are starting to warm back up. So it's just rain, but still some of those cold pockets in the south end of Puget Sound including right now around ground mound. Look at that mixed rain and snow showing up right around the I five corridor south of Olympia. So again for the next couple of hours wants to rain returns could follow some freezing rain, meaning it comes down as rain, and then ISIS up over some of the bridges and overpasses, and we may have some short-lived fits and starts of some wet snow in the foothills by about two or three o'clock in the morning. And then that's it. It all goes away, and we brighten up. Again, on Saturday overnight lows those still right around freezing in the south sound, and again could see that freezing rain or some black ice is result temps today. Made it back into the forties. We'll continue heading back toward normal temperatures. The next few days this week disturbance just opening up the storm door it's gone as quickly as it comes through. But the next one behind that that is doing on Sunday. And that one's more vigorous over the cascades that is going to make I some snow some freezing rain down below. It will just be wet."
