"Some more interviews from Fiji with the man who went down to get them all with the cast of survivor thirty nine. Please welcome back great friend Joshua Josh how are you. I'm fantastic. We Are we are. We are changing beaches today. We are changing weeks and beaches all in one go. It's such an exciting time here in the IOI preseason. He's in now that it is finally upon us time three day. Three of our interview series days but yes yes. We're going to be hearing. Ah Josh is five interviews with the alphabetical first half of the vote try. That'll be Jamal Janet and Jason. Yeah a lot of Jay's lots of Jay's all the days of the season. Were put on FOCI. I I have noticed that about survivor like if there's two Kelly's Odyssey's in they'll throw both of the Kelly's onto the care. They really don't like they're like I don't care if there's four people with the first name starting with j on the same tribe and none on the other one we don't. We don't need to make this easy for you. We believe your ability to follow along. Yeah survivor never playing. They'd never played the audience like they're dummies right. It's up to them then to figure things out and you're a purple. Oh Kelly Era Boston. Rob Your Z. Yeah exactly all right. So did you like being robbed. See would if you could have done differently if you could go back. Would you change anything. I would change a lot being robbed not high on the list not high on the analyst but we'll see maybe if I play again maybe Boston Rob will be coach and then he released the test on what I should you. Of course we part. One and two of this interview is series with the Leroy tribe. Those were all very fun but Josh we're going to get into the vote Kyw. Try anything you want to say. The name like Giora More Mont because 'cause I know you want to vote yeah doesn't that it's more fun to say that yeah all right. Josh anything big picture about L. Jam focused slowly absolutely I think I said on the Lyra tribe podcasts that and certainly Mike and I talked about it too in the in the podcast we did together. You're going to that beach to Lyra beach like we were just like we were trying very hard not to like crack up in front of the actual contestants really keep a low profile. Oh file and they were not making it easy for us. Boakye was a different story not that it wasn't highly enjoyable to go and check out this tribe in action and they were just actually in action whereas Lyra was lying down in their shelter doing their best to just like stand up comedy us to death the members of Boakye much more taking the game seriously and taking the survival aspect seriously worker worker bees all over buzzing around all over the places aces. They're chopping Bam boo. They were working on their shelter which was already pretty impressive for day to both shelters were pretty impressive for two and just moving around. I and getting things going and working on figuring out how to find like the best supplies that'll help you. Brush your teeth things like that and things like that so that was that was really the experience. Just seeing people already get into like that daily. Grind of survivor living and I think that there are allied. God Really Fun people on this tribe as well but I do think that there's almost like a little bit more of like a serious mindedness. Maybe to some of these people so I I thought that that was an interesting distinction that I kind of felt that way about a lot of these people individually anyway and to see that that division between the two tribes is one is sort of like the really whimsical group then the other group that isn't just like stone cold serious but they were just like kind of getting to work and there's a lot of work to be done out. There and we ourselves have have a lot of work to do right now all right up. I is going to be Dan Josh show. What can you tell us about Damn yes. Dan is a talent manager. Originally from New York is currently in. La as he'll tell you he's had a few brushes with survivor in the past few near casting incidents himself off your definition of winning that I think is going to be different from your definition of winning. Hill articulate that in the interview that we did but he'll also he'll chart history with how he got into his industry. How he got into his his particular position within his industry. there will be some stories about soda that I think will will will be ironic in the light of another interview coming up later in this ferry podcast so we'll just we'll touch those two things back when we get to the moment but other than that let's turn it over to. Dan as again mother Corner Office. Dave really done well by either. I'm Josh Josh. I'm Dan Nice to meet you. Grab a seat. Join me in my very fancy. They love it lovely cubicle the SPIEL. I'll give you a no hands on the table. Yes because otherwise otherwise you are free to do anything and everything you're heading to yeah you can do that. I mean like the Canary can tell people Wisconsin on as he banged his head on. That's my God Dan yes. What are you doing out here. What am I doing out here. What I'm doing here here I guess is the way I've the way I've come to it. Now is like my Mount Everest right like in the last you know. This is my thing that have read about. It was really cool. In the last twenty years there have been five five thousand people who climb to the top of Everest. Both there have been what less than five hundred sixty you played this game and I guess there's less than thirty seven or thirty seven eventually won it right so it's I think we look for challenges in life and I have no interest in frostbite and oxygen deprivation. Well maybe this and then like maybe helpers whereas zero no telling you frostbite oxygen deprivation. I've watched those documentaries. No you're going on. This is my Mount Everest. This is my this is my kind of challenge. Calendar fits. Everything about who I am and how I lived in what I've done and it's just to me is like that's it. This is the this is the amount I want to climb this mountain yeah so tell me who who you are. What you've done that makes this your Everest then a lot of the last twenty years I run a talent management company actors and and and did it from. I did the famous you know you were attorney thinking that you'd be you know maybe entertainment trying to clients conciliatory kind of thing and you'd be their protector and you're just shuffling paperwork in. WanNa kill yourself and so you know did the famous quit that and got a job you know unbeknownst to me where the first they had to do was. I was told that those to hold every floor the three floors of this building have a fridge in has you know free it's snapple and diet coke and coke and seven up and diet seven up and in Red Bull anti-rebel a great. She's like the storerooms there so each fridge has them like I'm putting that shit in the fridges so yeah to start and then come back when you're done and how's he really didn't give it about what you've done before this business yeah but yes. I've been doing that for twenty years and coaxing frigid exactly how having and move I just. I'm so good at that why you think they would have promoted me by now. I just love the way that the the temperature is always fill the bottles Donald Alternative label facing you get a job job at some point though they're going to believe in me and give me a shot okay so they gave you a shot event. They gave me a shot pretty quickly and the funny thing is the place that I did that. I left and came back to but now I own it so it is pretty neat to be the guy in the office. Talk about planning the flag and the summit. That's very cool. I am in the office in which I had to put a semi ripe banana and a copy of USA Today on the desk of twenty years ago. It does really when you wake up in the morning. That's gotTa feel good. It is really neat to go to that is a nice big office with a huge massive deck and that's pretty rare and so yeah it feels feels really good is it's. It's been a fantastically successful ride and and I think you know my father gave me a great piece of advice but you know you take your twenties figuring out what you WanNa do in your thirties getting really really good at it in your forty s making lots of money. Doing it and you're getting out of it yeah so I'm in I'm in the I'm in the thirty. s doing very get about getting the next decade you make a Fortune Ottaway fortune and then you've got six years to figure out how to make money got plenty of your the window is coming all right yeah so you're you're enjoying what you're doing. Love what I'm doing but you're also enjoying taking a break from it for a couple of weeks at least a couple of months. It's forty five days when lose it's a little terrifying. I mean definitely the the only fear I have isn't isn't losing per se but his losing and not having purposeful existence I have to find a new purposeful existence post vote which I do not anticipate but the post merge jury vote as perfectly fine right as this probably for most people though I anticipate and expect to vinyl three and family visit family visits a big highlight for me because they've allowed me to have my thirteen year old son. My family visit shows history. They've had a minor who needs it to be traveled with. Someone be the van. He's a he. We've watched it a massive survivor fan and we've watched it since he was four dream and so he's gotta hit the loved ones. I mean if I can somehow tell people that look honestly vote me. I thought me out that don't vote me out that night. Get into eight or nine lead us to. I don't care just get me to eight or whatever eight seven whatever number that is. That's a very big you know when you have the visualize where you want to be a big visualization for him running out from behind the bamboo who in the you know it's a big thing for me so excited about that. How did all of all of your work lead to survivor to this being the challenge. If you've been a fan of the show for a long time and the funny thing was that first stocking the fridge job I wasn't a kid you know so I was twenty eight right and and that was the first year of survivor yeah and so we both started together you know humble beginnings of the my first year was not quite as Momentus as survivors but I've I've literally watched the show you know grow and change as I've grown in change has been kind of interesting in different ways but so I've been a fan ever since and I think it was a combination of just different life events where you know talking to the TV screen for the fourteenth. I've just just apply for this thing and finally life you know. It looked like why aren't applying for this this thing and funny enough we had taken a vacation in Fiji partly welcome back. I know but partly because they had filmed here and so I think part in the back of my mind I didn't go to I I don't know where we are and have no idea where you are but in the back of my mind I think it was like wondering why they started to hint that they're saying I think it was the second time they filmed here. So I came here. Maybe the third three years ago and three years ago I would have been probably the first year that they were right to the season second against season they filmed here and I think indicated they were coming back or there was blogging or whatever so we took vacation here and it was so nice like okay because I think I had a little bit fear of I don't WanNa go to Cambodia and like I don't WanNa be bitten by. It was rough out there. I mean there are parts of that's not the advantage of their lords."
