Tokyo Olympics Conclude, Marking End of Strangest Games on Record


Flame has been extinguished, signaling the end of Tokyo 2020, an event delayed one year by the global pandemic. NBC's Jim Ryan was covering the game from the empty stadiums to the quarantines to the masks on every face. Coronavirus was as much a player at the games of the 32nd Olympiad as any gymnast, swimmer or skateboarder. Given the rising covid numbers, many Japanese remained sceptical about the wisdom of hosting the Olympics outside the closing ceremony.
