VMI superintendent resigns amid racism investigation
The superintendent of the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, has resigned. A statement today from Via My School board President John William Boland says retired Army General J. H. Binford P. The third offered his resignation today, and the board accepted it with deep regret. Announcement comes a week after state officials ordered an investigation into what some claim is a culture of ongoing structural racism at the school. The state took action after a blistering report in the Washington Post about racist acts and behavior.
