500,000 kids could lose free school lunch under Trump administration proposal


A trump administration plan to cut food stamp eligibility could drop half a million children from free school lunch programs the proposal announced last week would change the supplemental nutrition assistance program so some three million people would no longer get benefits just because they're enrolled in state food assistance programs house education and labor committee chairman Bobby Scott is asking agriculture secretary Sonny Perdue to call attention to how the change would affect free school meals the Virginia Democrat said people should have the opportunity to comment on all aspects of the rules
