Coronavirus: MTA puts $51.5B capital program on hold in New York



The MTA board has decided to put an indefinite hold on billions of dollars of planned upgrades to the city's transit system that includes modernize signal systems new subway cars a new elevators it doesn't dozens of stations back in March the agency put a sixty day hold on all capital projects that will now continue as the MTA pushes for another nearly four billion dollars an emergency federal relief money during its virtual board meeting today the agency also said it's considering job and wage cuts as a way to address what looks like a ten billion dollar budget deficit over the next two years
