Spacewalking astronauts prep station for new solar wings

Two NASA astronauts have ventured outside the international space station this morning, upgrading the orbiting labs Power system from member station W. M F E In Orlando, Brendan Byrne reports. NASA's Kate Rubins and Victor Glover will begin installing mounting hardware to support new solar panels for the I s s Nothing wrong with the current panels, but NASA says the station could use an extra boost in power. The new panels launching to the station later this year, will increase the station's power from 160 kilowatts to 215. The football field sized station continues to grow, with Maura users like commercial partners utilizing lab, which means a need for more power. A second spacewalk with Rubens and Japan's Soichi Noguchi is scheduled for later this week. That duel will upgrade parts of the station's airlock and install new cabling for cameras outside the
