"Is this we'll get into the situation and where the Supreme Court is regarding the dreamers whatever I say he starts playing here folks things stand for the we'll tackle that in just a minute here on Schmidt our number two a a lot a lot of ground to cover I mean even scratch the surface where we're headed today eight hundred eight zero one eighty nine ninety nine I want to go to fold fear I didn't get a chance to get the phones in our number one sometimes that does happen sometimes you don't get the phones in our number two but I want to grab his phones are completely let up regarding the new town situation sandy hawk the Supreme Court decision today L. clearing the way for the families of the shooting victims to sue Remington and again just some of the additional details here is that what the Supreme Court did today this will allow the lower court decision to stand and again this potentially will completely open the litigation flood gates here allowing lots of victims to sue gun manufacturers and there are a lot of similarities or there are a lot of you know comparisons you can make and one that has been made is you are suing car manufacturers for every single accident if you're a pedestrian and you get mold over in a crosswalk and I assume the car manufacturer along with the insurance company of the driver and the driver it's center here but certainly a very dangerous legal precedent is potentially set here and of course register for those of you just tuning and Remington there are legal position were that they were protected by this federal law from two thousand five that advanced gun makers from liability for crimes made by a defective human beings crime is carried out by degenerates I got a hold of their weapons and ultimately I just don't see the pathway of the connection to blame the gun manufacturer for the actions of those that will fully misuse a product for its for unintended purposes an ailing is all these are only designed to kill people know they're not it means these rifles are used for hunting these rifles a use for our sport shooting that's what I use my Hey ours for almost sport shooter I'm not a hunter I love camping out on a bench in the words of a shooting range or going to an indoor range and working on my groping and working on my technique can trigger Poland and citing him no optics for me it is a relaxation I guess we could say yeah that's kind of like a form of meditation I was joking about net meditation last hour they do go to the range and your coordinating your ice your breathing your trigger pull I mean there's a lot that goes into a sport shooting or hunting for that matter and again you've got millions and millions of these weapons in the hands of millions of Americans and ninety nine point nine whatever the actual percentages it's the overwhelming majority are in the hands of lawful individuals for all lawful purposes and Remington seven were protected under this two thousand five law the protection of lawful commerce in firearms act or in arms act that clearly is under new exposure here because of some of these mass shootings which every single one is a tragedy of a travesty and of course one of the exceptions in this two thousand five protection of lawful commerce in arms act one of the exceptions is where the claim is that a gun manufacturer will fully he knowingly negligently violates the law due to the way they market the weapon and it was that that is allowed these families to file a lawsuit against Remington and they say that Remington the manufacturer of the Bushmaster A. R. fifteen that was used in sandy hook by a circle Lanza they had said that Remington this is a quote they marketed this Bushmaster A. R. fifteen quote as a highly lethal weapon designed for purposes that are illegal namely killing other human beings and I just don't see it that way they're going to have their day in court obviously as the Supreme Court has clearly clear the way here I let's grab some phone calls eight hundred eight zero one eighty nine ninety nine eight hundred eight zero one eight nine nine nine the number here on Schmidt let's so fittingly take a call first up today is a call from Newtown Conn Anthony you're on from that height you're gonna talk come to the program like right all your artists are called in on Mar from new town I was in high school when this went on and driving around town in a lot of people in town knew of land and he was always you know a strange bird I know you're out of school and had like issues or that type of stuff I just find it at some point very in response all of his mother to teach him how to use a gun take them out shooting I know people can say that you know their way of bonding and all that but at some point you know people have to be responsible for their own actions right hand if you are going after somebody I think you know your family or something but it's still like seven years they just you know keep going after anybody that can in town I know is a terrible terrible thing Anthony I am not discounting what these families went through and again I support these families in new town on so many levels I to the best of my ability try to feel their pain understand the loss of their precious little first grade six year old angels you know twenty of these kids and the six adults these here adults that try to shield these kids well listen I I completely up to the best of my ability without actually suffering or being involved I try to comprehend the pain and anguish and I I as I said last segment that I support their anguish of their anger against that Bozo Alex Jones and him trying to come up with these conspiracy whack job theories adding to their pain but as far as the second amendment goes and you know my love of my constitutional freedoms I do split on this particular issue Anthony listen you're in new town you claims for you did you actually have contact or ever talk with or meet with or see Adam Lanza I drive Corpus maybe once or twice to a gas station the passing through but you know it's it's a face after you see something like that on the news you really do."
