Listen: Trump Nadler, James Comey And John Kelly discussed on Chip Franklin
"Franklin. Eight. Hey, chip Franklin in Nikki medoro here with you on K G O James Comey dragged in front of the the house of representatives, the Republican controlled house until a few weeks and was forced to answer questions to try to impugn his integrity. I mean, this is the whole thing. This is what Trump wanted Kami, of course, has been privy to some some bad stuff. Some obstruction of Justice stuff. The Trump said and it was now brought in front of this group. And he said the only way he would appear is the transcripts were eventually made public and that will happen regardless because the house will put them out once they are taken over by the Democrats joining right now from politico speaking news division is Louis Nelson Lewis this call me appearance is pretty much the Republicans version of a witch hunt. Right. Well it. It truly depends on who you ask with these things. Right. The James Comey like you betcha. At had sought to insist that this be a public hearing that the question would be done in front of a public audience. And you know, this is sort of thing that would generate a lot of TV attention and things like that is hearing would have been shown live on all the cable networks all day. Instead, it was a closed hearing a Republicans are sensibly wanted to prevent James Comey for being able to not answer questions by saying that he that his answer would be classified or that. He couldn't say it in an open setting. So my colleagues at politico all the reporting his has sort of dictated has been dictated by whether you're talking to a Republican who is in the hearing or or democratic Republicans perhaps predictably complained that James Comey didn't answer their questions or or was to of aces. Also, an attorney in hearing who sought to who who tried who stopped me from answering certain questions because they were because the answers would have been related to ongoing investigation. So when you say investigation, you mean, the Muller investigation, it's not entirely clear again, we haven't seen the transcript yet from this from this hearing, and so that's gonna come out tomorrow. But Democrats have basically says basically come out here against that James was was mostly was entirely forthright and Trump Nadler, Jerry Nadler, who is going to be the chairman of the House Judiciary committee called this into called this fishing investigation. And he said that disorder stuff is you know, sort of going after call me like this is not gonna continue. What's Democrats took over the majority? Chip franklin. Nikki medoro we're talking to Louis Nelson from politico dot com for those that don't remember James Comey was director of the FBI, and is credited for really causing Trump the win when he appeared before the American public in November and said that Hillary was exonerated. But she still did some bad things. Probably did it because like everybody else we assumed that Hillary Clinton was gonna win. And then later on when Trump asked him in effect to stop the Flynn investigation. He relies so bad guy. And I gotta do the American thing and start taking notes and report on him. Call is a good American a little flawed, he costed election, but nonetheless, a good guy. And that's what this house investigation is trying to do is to Smerch this good reputation. And of course, John Kelly's in the news with his resignation imminent, and he appeared before Muller as well. And the White House actually tried to use that old executive privilege to stop me from talking to him. Yeah. The White House has has for a long time sought to block sought to block a molar investigation. And and like you mentioned one tactic that they've relied on is trying to rely on executive privilege that that hasn't proven to be an especially effective means of of or a specially effective tactic for Trump's legal team. Lots of different Trump administration officials and former officials have talked to the Muller investigations, including as retarded today. And like, you mentioned Jesus ask how much do we know about what Kelly new, you know? So I can't speak specifically to the nature of those Kelly is particularly interactions with the special counsel's office there. Maybe there may be information about out there about that that I'm just not aware of. I'm not sure about that. You know, what amazes me? Are we're talking to Louis Nelson from politico dot com. This is the same grand jury. Imagine what these people heard imagine when they're finally freed from this grand jury what they can talk about what they can write about. They've been on the edge of history. Now for almost two years. I mean, we know they interviewed Priebus, and now the interviewed Kelly, and why just imagine the trough of information there, of course, Kelly hasn't been there as long, and I don't know how much he would know. Right. That's been one issue involved with with choose Kelly that I think has been somewhat limiting in terms of he's interactions with the special counsel office. At speaking events is that John Kelly wasn't in the White House on a day to day basis until July of last year, July twenty seventeen that's when rights Priebus was effectively fire dismissed as White House chief of staff. When the president fired his chief of staff via Twitter ranks Priebus, did you know? Let go of the sort of the, you know, the firing of Kim Komi and those interactions about trying to end FBI investigation into Michael Flynn and things like that certainly John Kelly. It's not hard to imagine him having relevant information for the special counsel's office. But a lot of the pertinent events and things like that for date. I swear man, I think they need a revolving door in that place, and and it's not getting any better Lewis. Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it. Louis Nelson from politico dot com. Thanks, and we'll talk to you real soon. Spas. Your thank you. The insanity is ramping up. It's just the idea that that Trump tweeted out today. You know, I'm clear, I'm clear. It's this is something that you're going to see this happen continued, you know, Trump reported today that when this investigations over the mother report he's going to have another report, it'd be bigger and better he said that that's insane. I don't understand. Well, I do that. I know that the people like, you know, the Corcoran, Lindsey Graham, right? They they they're really mad about the kashogi thing. And then they come in the back him on this other crazy stuff. You can't have it. Both ways. All right. So coming up, I'm gonna lay on you. Tillerson Tucker Carlson, a Cossio Cortez. It's been a day of insanity. And we'll also let you comment we haven't taken any, callers, and we'd love to hear from you. The phone number's eight hundred eight oh, eight one. Oh, do you think there will be an ending that satisfactory to people like me when this investigations released because I don't think so I don't think so I think that we're going to be I think Trump is going to lie his way right through this and ignore the truth. Like, he, hey, what what part of this guy tells you he's going to accept the verdict of the American people that he's a lying PEO s. Am the eight zero eight oh, eight one. Oh, you're welcome to come in here and comment on this way. Do you hear these stories next? It's gonna blow you away as a kid you Franklin cage Clark. Four twelve on K G L, and we need to see where the problems are on bay area roads with other from the Filton auto body traffic."
