‘Super-Enzyme’ Speeds Up Breakdown of Plastic, Researchers Say

Automatic TRANSCRIPT

Global problem of plastic, where scientists have created a so called super enzyme that can break down plastic six times faster than previous plastic gobbling compounds. It means that full recycling of plastic bottles will now be possible as early as two years from now, they say, and by combining the super in time with other enzymes that break down cotton. It could also allow mixed fabric clothing to finally be recycled instead of ending up in landfills. Vicki Barker, CBS news
