That's the pitch that a little known cable company called all tees is making as it goes up against cellular giant Berezin. The New York City cable company says it will debut its new service this summer all tees Mobile's monthly data plans will cost between twenty dollars and thirty bucks a month. The company says, although it hastens to say those prices, aren't yet written in stone. So what's the difference between cell phone service from a carrier like Verizon and mobile service from a cable company? Well, first off, you typically have to be a customer of the cable company in order to get it or be willing to switch cable companies. Comcast and charter started offering their packages in the last two years. Their primary goal isn't to turn a profit is to keep you from cutting their chords over the last several years cable companies have. Been suffering TV viewers say goodbye and Hello to streaming services like Netflix, which are usually cheaper in response. Cable companies are trying to lure customers in with cheap cell phone service. They do that by tying together their own wifi hotspots with wholesale capacity purchased from wireless carrier networks. Comcast xfinity mobile service, for instance, employs Verizon's wireless network all tees promises to do the same thing using wholesale capacity from sprint. But I'll t- says it'll be the cheapest mobile service on the market cable companies. Don't typically compete with each other. They're geographically bound, you're much more likely to weigh the choice between all tees or your local cable company, and a big carrier Verizon's, unlimited monthly data costs, eighty dollars a month sprint charges, sixty dollars. Budget minded customers have warmed up to cost-conscious cable data plans Comcast, which began offering it service in two thousand seventeen now has almost one and a half million. Cell phone customers that's up from zero so growth has been fast, but it's still a tiny fraction of horizons one hundred million customers. Furthermore, teases new service will have plenty of fine print as there, always is with mobile service, still, people sick of paying high phone bills, and isn't that all of us will welcome more competition.
