Listen: San Diego Padres, WGN And Cubs discussed on Patti Vasquez with Andrea Darlas
"The news break with Andy mazer of our WGN sports department. And formerly the Chicago Cubs Chicago Padre, San Diego Padres. I just moved the Padres. Andy. That's okay. You know, you you worked for so many years here WGN with Ron Santo and the cubs and then went to San Diego and I play by play for the Padres. And do you miss the San Diego weather? I don't mean the team because I know your heart your family, and everybody's here. But do you ever miss the weather this time of year? Yeah. Well, yeah. Because Andrea you're out there visiting me right now, we'd be on a golfer. We would be. Nice outside and all that. But you know, what happens you up mid western people are the tough ones. We are. We absolutely are. They would they would complain out there about fifty five degrees. And I said, you know, what that's golfing whether it was shorts. No kidding, right? And remember, you told me that when you first moved out there every but they were like there was a rush to buy winter coats. When it hit fifty. Oh, it was ridiculous. They tell my first season there. I was watching the news. They're talking about the breaking news with a winter, weather advisory. And I said, oh, well, it's an interesting every literally set with straight basis that the winds are gonna kick up to maybe twenty miles an hour. And if the temperature we're to be in the mid fifties and the rate of quarter of an inch of rain. No, I started laughing. What did you? What did you say? To your co workers. Were you like this is nothing? Yeah. It's funny because the first game that I did when April the game time temperature was like sixty five or something like that. And I walked over there with a slacks and a at a button-down shirt short sleeved shirt, and they they looked at me into the booth. I said, where's your jacket? So what? Cool here at night. I go. Oh, okay. I think I'm gonna be okay. Yeah. That was okay. I will tell you. What's your out there for a while? A little bit of a challenge to get back into the swing of things with with cold weather. I bet I bet I mean, you're Chicago through and through though, I know you had other offers other places, but you said, you know, what I'm coming back to Chicago. And I'm so glad you did. I'm glad I did. Thank you. I it was it was so much fun to come back to a place that I do and loved already. And what's."
