Chicago’s winter overnight parking ban begins Tuesday


For a while, you know to better start thinking twice about where you park for the night Starting tonight. Tomorrow is December 1st and starting at three in the morning, the city's winter overnight parking band goes into effect. The parking ban is for four hours and covers 107 miles of major city streets. Your car will be towed. Whether there's been any snow or not. The overnight parking ban runs until April, 1st. The city started the band 40 years ago after parked vehicles paralyzed snow cleanup efforts after the blizzard of 79.
