Automatic TRANSCRIPT

So last week there is now is late with the podcast is because I was in Orlando for I mean, an after noon just kind of learning a couple tricks of the trade from some of the professionals at WWE before I headed to Montreal, you know, because I can't it's it's very different from doing the kickoff show commentary. But I was able to pick up some tips give back to New York lay down this podcast and then on Sunday night head to Montreal where. I got to sit there and do commentary for main event, and it was pretty amazing just being part of the whole process. You know, you go out right around seven thirty rose about to start at eight but seven thirty go out there jump into the booth boom, boom, boom, all of the people in the arena already there. You're sitting down. And it's go go go about maybe thirty to sixty seconds from the time. You sit down until that main event music kicks. Byron Saxton is able to take over right away. Boom, boom, boom. I entrance comes out. Here comes a camera right in your face. It's time to introduce yourselves to the world incredible couple of matches. Here's what's going on there. Here's what's going on here. And I was there to simply give my opinion. I was there to just they said, you know, I don't know anything about any sports. I'm not there to call moves or do anything like that? But I was there. They said, you know, you give your opinion on the kickoff show. Let's hear you give your opinion on main event could be fun and everybody. Did I think I had a blast doing it? I would love to do more because it's one of those things where you go in for your first time, and you go man that was fun. I wish I could do it more not only because doing more fun things is even more fun. But. It takes some time to get comfortable in that booth. It's a difficult thing to do. But I mean difficult in the best possible way. So I'm so psyched that it all went down. And then immediately after main event, you go you stand up you get out of their time to transfer over. Here comes Michael Cole. Here comes Corey graves. See you later Rene backstage superstar shakeups happening. I mean to watch the moving parts of an episode of Monday night, raw specifically like the superstar. Shakeup is unbelievable. It's like nothing else in sports nothing else in entertainment. It is crazy that the WWE is able to pull this off weekend. We got an in never ceases to blow my mind, especially everybody working behind the scenes, it is you hear things described as a well oiled machine. It's a machine oiled as well. The way. No other machine is oiled. It's incredible. But speaking of Montreal and the fun time that I had there I couldn't help. But think about the fact that Montreal is the spot where one of the most famous also betrayals. In wrestling history app. And that of course, it's called the Montreal screw job survivor series, nineteen Ninety-seven Bret Hart is getting ready to go to WCW. He's instructed to drop the title to Shawn Michaels. He doesn't feel comfortable dropping the title to Shawn Michaels in Montreal won't do it. Brenton Vince McMahon worked together to try to figure out alternatives to what Brett could do Bret doesn't want to do it. Vince McMahon agrees to a some kind of schmaltz ending then at the last minute without Brett's knowledge brackets, putting the sharpshooter the bell is wrong. And Shawn Michaels announces the new WWE champion like nothing that had happened before in any sort of recent history. There are other examples of betrayals happening. But in terms of doing it on on WWE, pay per view in nineteen Ninety-seven in the attitude era, which is nothing like it had happened. Vice vice land vices cable channel vice land has a series out called dark side of the ring. And it's done by a couple of guys. Evan hunter is the producer. Jake Eisner is the director. I got the chance to see a bunch of the episodes including the episode that aired this week on the Montreal screw job. And I really like it. It's not it's not perfect..
