Listen: Malibu, Bell Canyon, Panga Canyon discussed on Meet the Press
"This one started way up by the one eighteen went through oak park and the Gora and then like a speeding freight train made it down to Malibu, and what that means is it came to Malagueta very broad front. Not only did one canyon get affected, but multiple canyons got affected. Some of this fuel out here that hasn't burned for fifty years or more maybe since nineteen fifties has a lot of potential energy in it. And and all of that can be essentially an incinerator for somebody in the wrong position. So. So I think the evacuations, although there may have been confusion as there are times like that where it was effective and everybody got out much better to lose a home. That is to lose a life and tragic loss of a home is that doesn't compare that to the loss of life. So I'm happy that everybody got a as they needed to. That's Rick ball, and the mayor of Malibu thank you for taking the time to join us live. Also, we're keeping an eye on these flare ups west hills Malibu that's coming up in two minutes. Right after traffic. It's twelve thirty seven, and let's see how those freeways and a service to return looking. Here's today's fondaco where they flare up is happening on. We definitely have a closure there men's valley circle of bell canyon closed down until further notice the one one still closed in that is from race adobe. I as you make your way to valley circle east or westbound were waiting to get word on if we're going to actually see the one and one reopened today. There was some hope of that happening. From officials PCH is shutdown right? From the Ventura County line at lasts posts as you make your way into Pacific Palisades at sunset. So that is a massive closure and all of your canyon passes off PCH are also closed down every one of them. I you're not able to make it through including decker canyon all the way over to to panga canyon. And we've got a lot of. Closures on surface streets throughout the fire area. I lot of emergency equipment, obviously, still moving in and out of these areas. So you've got to be very heads up as you make your way through these locations. We've got a new problem reported on the one and one this is westbound."
