Listen: Jags, Patriots, Jalen Ramsey discussed on Ross Tucker Football Podcast
"Online dot AG, or just are betting on NFL and college football because there's lines up for all of them you can do that as well. Jeez, Ross, let's start with the Texans and patriots today and the latter drop the tampering allegations against the former once Texans decided no longer to pursue Caserio as their general manager. So there's a lot here Bri. I mean number one supposedly Nicarico has something in his contract that prevents the Texans from hiring him. I don't really understand that. Or how that's legal. I don't know what it would be. Maybe it's something to do with going with someone who leaves the organism nation like Bill O'Brien. But that's kind of a strange thing to me. I also think that I might have pointed out this week. I also think it's a little weird that, like if Nicosia REO has been there like sixteen years, or whatever done such a great job if he wants this opportunity. This is a better opportunity for him. I don't know. It seems a little weird to me that the patriots would prevent him from doing if that's what he really wanted like and by the way, his contract expires after the draft in February. So do they really want a guy on their staff that is going to be the Texans GM in February of twenty twenty do they do they want him? They still want him around. That's a weird one too. So I don't know a lot of weird situations there speaking of weird, by the way, the Texans, clearly, fired their general manager Brian gain, and now instead they're going ahead because they wanna Nicosia Rio. And instead they're gonna get nobody. And there are reports that perhaps they're gonna have Jack Easterby, who was like the chiefs team chaplain, a few years ago, he split the GM duties, I mean, the jets get a lot of flack, but the Texans are team that pretty clearly right now, doesn't really know what they're doing doesn't have a well thought out plan. Jeez. He Jaguars were also in the news over the weekend after linebacker tell than Smith posted. It seemed find him for skipping minicamp, even though he isn't playing this year. And Jalen Ramsey posted a video, making it clear that he won't give the team discount next off season. Right. I mean, the Jags are another one that they're in the news a lot for the wrong reasons. You know, the weird thing to me about them is that you would think that with Tom Coughlin. Doug marrone? I felt like I've said this number of times over the years that they would have a, a certain culture. I mean Doug Marrone Tom Coughlin. Instead now you've got telvision Smith. Evidently is not happy that they find him for skipping minicamp. He hasn't communicated with the team. He hasn't communicated with the team at all. You know what I mean? That's, that's what's crazy to me that he has not communicated with the team at all. And yet he's upset that they're finding him for skipping minicamp. He posted on Instagram as taking a year off, but hasn't talked to the team at all. I don't blame them one iota. Not one iota. Do I blame the Jacksonville Jaguars for finding him if he talked to them told them, what was going on, like Nick foles did with his wife having a miscarriage? That's one thing. But that's not what's going on here and then Jalen Ramsey. I mean it just it's a bad deal, man. It's a bad deal with having your best players like this post these things on social media. I'm not giving them a discount by the way. Jalen, you're under contract for twenty twenty with fifth year option. They don't need you to give them a discount next year. They can they have you for nineteen. They have you for twenty they could franchise tag, you for twenty one. And by the way, posting on social media like that is part of the reason, frankly, why they're taking it. You're, you're not giving you the huge extension right now. Anyway. Jeez. We also have a little bit of tight end news, the NFL suspending Cowboys Rico gathered for one game after a previous marijuana arrest, an alliance or cutting tided, Michael Roberts after the trade to the patriots was rescinded. Well that's the thing the Rico gathers thing was from while ago. You know what's weird about that? I don't know if he's even going to make the team or not. But it almost gives the Cowboys in advantage. It gives them for one week like a fifty four roster spot and teams usually take advantage of that. Because what if you know one of their tight ends gets hurt and week one, then they have Rico gathers on their roster as opposed to somebody else's roster. So that's not that big a deal. The Michael Roberts thing is interesting. I don't know why the patriots rescinded the trade, but they did so that that's kind of interesting. You know what is an interesting eating bad meat.."
