"Like that's the athlete lifting more. That's athlete that I WANNA really try to help and I would look at the athlete that didn't want to be there and that would be the athlete that I wanted to help because I saw myself I saw the two hundred five bound. You know freshman in high school that I was doing the same things that you're doing with food and nutrition and stuff and I'd be like Oh my God imagine what it would be like to have someone that was a positive influence in a you know environment like this when I was that age how could that have changed. My life and those are again. I think that's just like the the the best thing can do whether it's an athlete or whether it's an adult that walk through the door just because I heard about it from a bunch of different places or I saw your ads on facebook the violence and like I thought find I will. I'll do a trial session like I know. This isn't gonNA work. Nothing's ever worked but when you can actually show them that a you know you can get a lot done in our focus be you could get them feeling better when they walk out the door like in one session you can get them feeling better like Oh man like my leg doesn't hurt as much my hip or my back and my shoulder doesn't hurt as much as I walk through the door when you can show them that there is some white there is some positive future in front of them like that can completely change someone's life. Were you know if I'm taking an athlete. That's making twenty million dollars to twenty. Five million dollars was year like that's great and there's tons of great people that do that and great professionals that are awesome. professional athletes are often people but for me like like I'm just in the middle of Nowhere Thousand Square Foot Gym and I'm going to help these kids. You know potentially win a state championship like that's great and helping people make change in lives to get stronger move better. Maybe get leaner in just be happier and provide great environment. That's that's just the best okay you mentioned the Celtics. I hope raises up but like I don't know if you caught the this was just amazing statement he made I don't normally like sit there and listen to what the Commissioner basketball talks about but it was all about their state of union thing and he mentioned he never seen the athletes and in the NBA be unhappier than the right yeah I saw that and when you take us up Hugo how in the world could that be mentioned or your be this and that and he traced it back to one thing the impact social media these guys have everything in the world there at the top of their profession they made more money than they have for generations they have fame name and they're miserable and I'm not talking to people like Social Batman. You and I both know like my I think my wife said it best you know. She was talking about influencers right she goes. It's not funny term about being an influence or is it doesn't tell me if you're a good or bad influence grappling. I is a choice like you know now. It's like I I. I'm totally fine. I won't be the the biggest you know person on social media. That's totally fine because that's not my goal but if I if I can make an impact upon those people people that do follow me then that's all I could ask for because if you can save that one 'cause I don't know are you familiar with the story the track and field young lady that committed suicide independent so this I'll make this quick is a whole book about her. It's sad but it's very impactful to think about so this young lady goes off depended run track and has some depressive tendencies families aware of them while she was there the the presidency's grow as her mom's having a talk with her Karadzic now why why are you so sad and she goes well I look at the pictures that my friends from high school posting on Social Media and they look like they're having so much fun and and she goes honey. You're you're posting pictures. ICU posting are all great looks like you're having a blast goes mom. Those are just pictures and waiter on her depression keeps growing. Even her family tries to get treatment. She eventually commit suicide. sad story like silver lining the by the but the point is like she couldn't differentiate shake her own posting from what other people are posting i. She was happy fits. She was posting things but she couldn't understand that what she was seeing from her friends. Wasn't there real life either at this point. I'm just trying to get people where I think other professionals when the Jim they look at what other people are doing they're like oh my I suck 'cause. I'm not doing look like they're gyms pack. I'm pretty sure I'M GONNA go out on a limb. Everyone's taking pictures of their biggest classes today of course yeah why would you not but if you don't have perspective upon that that could be really like it can really destroy you inside. You're like wow they're killing get. I'm here struggling like what's wrong with me and my saying there's things that you can't do better but you're probably closer to being very similar to those other people than you are like Oh. I I just suck and no one else like. Have you ever talked to anyone at conference Kevin Maybe in private. They'll do it but like not public not not if there's other people go. Hey how things ended. It's great. We're killing it. Have you ever oversight what Kevin it's really hard right now. We're struggling like well even in the first year like that first performance that I went to after being open for nine months people were asking him by dude. It's awesome awesome sight packed but like you know at that point. They're still be days when it got to the first summer. Things were definitely better because athletes were there but right before that there were days when I wouldn't go into the gym because there was nothing going on. There were no groups. There were no clients finance the the the calendar was clean and Erica and says the same thing right when he opened up his jim he was in the shape of his life because they know clients allow almost had adverse effects to me because you know we go back to those childhood tendencies and this is why again why so have a coach because like you know my coping mechanism was so be like yeah. I think I'm GonNa you know maybe I'll go. Get some ice cream or something like that or I'm GonNa go get it because that will at least make feel better for a little bit because this kinda sucks right now and you know again. I think maybe the most important thing and it's the thing that even though we're more connected than ever were so bad at at and I was bad at it was asked for help in even just like say hey. Can you jump on the phone. I just need to talk to someone about this where again the the hardest thing thing for me opening up that Jim wasn't the money that I put into. It wasn't like laying it out wasn't permit wasn't anything it was. It was fact that didn't have someone next to me in the office to say like like will we get. I needed someone to bounce ideas off because that was two words yeah. That's where I did like my best work was it was great being a leader but but it was also great to be able to like say Mike. What do you think of this like Mike? Does this make sense being able to have that kind of help was was huge in its why I will continue tend to have a coach. Even though the gym is doing well now I still need someone who'd be like dealing with sweatshirt crap over the last edge just return eighty sweatshirts. It's that were printed poorly sorted by the but Kevin I interrupted compliment you. If you're going to compliment someone like you said something. I think a lot of people will miss you. Have a coach and you see what you and I think the better route because what you could have done is usually could on for the aim of a partner and I'm not saying all partners are bad but let me say this though a lot of times when people parner they partner up with someone who has the same skill set that they do towed Rodman someone who's complementary mentally ill. My Dad was giving me some good piece of advice over the years they said Noah Josh she'd Never Really WanNa partnership and I might why he goes because at at the end of the day someone's gotta be fifty one percent because otherwise no decisions will ever be made so I like the idea of what you're saying because a lot of people they see like Jim is overwhelming so they partner up in another trainer who has the same exact skill set that they do and they're just they're not actually helping each other grow versus like you said having maybe a business person or whatever it is if you're going to go that route or like you said Ashok natural coach. You get like an impartial third party where like if I if I tell her something like you know she's going to give me advice or at least she'll ask me questions to help me make a better decision but at the end of the Daley she's impartial you know like and that I think is really helpful where someone might make a decision based on money based on and you know how much time it would take an effort and all that stuff where Jackson wielding power one hundred percent so you know again I I still think you know if people are thinking about opening Jim. I think he's still think about it. You know think about a long and hard and make sure that it all make sense financially and it's something that you're willing to at least east again I think if you can open up a gym and do all the investment and then have no one trained there for a year and still be okay then. I think you probably should wait on opening that Jim. You should have a lot of experience in the gym in the industry. I and I think too I I do I some of these equinoxes trainings right and I it doesn't it's not just exclusive economic by example and now and then there's always one trainer in there. They'll call me off the sides. I I want to show you. I'M GONNA be on my own gym. Ston God. What made you want to do that? Well you know when here you know I do on sale. I have to do all these sales and I don't get all the money and you do you realize still gonNA sell and you still don't get all the money when it's your facility right yeah so. I just want you to make sure that that's not the reason you're doing. It and I'm sure you know better than most how true that is why when Bob Hansen News Mike Boyle's business partner at NBC like when I saw when I talked to him like this presenting the summer and I talked to you know it's funny talked to Mike Donna perform better in providence and like Gay Mahogany and you know he's like looks pretty fun there woody expanding which I often like you know i. I don't know maybe at some point but I I think I'm at the point where I'd Never WanNa hire someone. I just WanNa go in their coach and then leave unlock the door but you know I didn't realize when coaches at NBC would sometimes complain to be honest about like what they're getting paid for for for personal training or for coaching and stuff like that and then they don't realize what they're paying for heat electricity air conditioning what it costs to you know equip equip the gym what it costs for Insurance and dental and you note the sales staff the t shirts everything that goes into that and then I mean that it was a big that was a great thing for me to see you guys.."
