Listen: Saint Louis, Hockey And Chris discussed on Terry Meiners and Company
"Live from the iheartmedia, purple tower of power. The Terry minor show when we gathered all the information our feeling was the worst thing that could happen would be reinjuring of the calf. That's the warriors coach Steve her. Of course, it's talking about Kevin Durant. A meant to have a clip their lineup for the Saint Louis blues. I was wrong. That's what I'll start the show with. I was wrong. What did I say? Here on yesterday. I don't know anything about hockey. But since there in Boston for the game seven the match for the Stanley Cup, I'm going home squad, and that would be the Boston. Bruins, and I got thumped by Saint Louis. Now, Ian virtues. Our producer is a Saint Louis cardinals baseball fan. I never even asked you. If you cared about the Stanley Cup play used to watch hockey, it's so hard to watch it now. Because it shows up on the weirdest channels. But when I did watch hockey, I was a fan of the great one in LA kings, faint diamond Rondos, also here. She's an athlete could see diamond tearing. Did you follow it all anything with Saint Louis versus Boston for the Stanley Cup seven game seventh match? Whatever it is not really. Oh. I watched you call them games. What's hockey match say games game seven I watched for about an hour last night. It was pretty good. Oh game sevens. Or riveting TV because people are just lay there, laying it out ready to kill each other. When it was over the Saint Louis guys were all yelling, the F word so much, NBC couldn't beep. At fast me f f f f f it's like, okay, then why do they even put mics around there, when, you know, there are a bunch of boys anyway? And that's the way they're gonna yapping each other. They didn't talk that way when the girl with cancer came up to the they let her whole the Stanley Cup and all it was a great story. The blues Fluor out from Saint Louis took care of her. That was awesome. Is a beautiful moment in sports. But they're all screaming f word for in TV production, you know, you can do a wide shot of the arena, wherever you happen to be doing a sporting event, you to a wide shots and still have the microphones activated on there. But there's a sound person who's able to shut down the sound that comes from any of the cameras are down close on the ice because there's somebody there has got a microphones, not like those weather could be one or two players who are wired up or whatever. Nonetheless, somebody controls it think of a piano is the best way to describe it to people who are not in our business. A piano is what eighty eight keys. So that's, that's what a soundboards life for something like this probably eight different audio sources coming in. You just got to have a person or persons nimble enough to pup. Pup pup, pup pup ones on your radio diamond, you know, that goes pop that one off this office and keep the ones that are wide live. Anyway. It's always a little bit embarrassing for that this because it's trash is trash mouth. There's no excuse for people go. Ooh. Your old school. You know that's not. That's not the way you got a beautiful son right out there. You don't talk like that around. That's poisoned in people's ears. And so anyway, they should think their way through that nonetheless, I was wrong. Saint Louis dominated the match, and they were they were it was so long suffering for the city, the blues to not win. And so that's over. That's another one that's like the cubs. You know what I mean? Like that's over. Now. Can we just check that one off? They have their Stanley Cup. What are they drink on the Stanley Cup as the take it around and put champagne will they let every player have it for twenty four hours and they can do whatever they want. But I would assume it's coming in the locker room. They don't spray, champagne Lincoln World Series might, but because I always think hockey's more of a beer, sport, right? Especially because it's from Canada and makes a most and get some Labatt. We're going to Tim a get some Donut. They put a took on that. All right on the show today diamond and Doug bib. You're coming up by a little while. What are you guys on today? There's a can't that's coming up June camp Rondo, June twenty Rondo that's your last name. There must be connected to another Rondos. Well, you play a little basketball, I'm thinking of another Rondo that might be connected to that as well. My brother resign. Rondo your sweet brother? He's a good person this his camp. He loves he loves this time of year every year. That's great. Yeah. We talked Chris Mack yesterday. He was at Meade county and then his, Chris, MAC, basketball camps are coming up starting next week to find the Chris Mack interview online at W, H E, S dot com. And the next the girl code team is coming in here. And then later today you're gonna meet a pioneer in American journalism Dorothy. Gilliam is the first reporter African American woman for African American woman reporter at the Washington Post and then became a columnist and this is back in the sixties or whatever, and she's quite a, a guiding light for a lot of people in journalism. She happens to be in Louisville today. So she's going to visit with us later in Chris hartman's going to be here. Five o'clock today, and we're going to talk about LGBTQ life in Louisville. He's gonna come in studio. We'll we're going to talk about. It's pride week. And it's always good to hear perspectives. That may not be frequented in your life. And Chris, this love this guy so much. He's perfect for this job. And he's, he's just a great voice for the LGBTQ community, obviously a gay man. But I mean it's not like he speaks for lesbians or transgender people, but, but in an umbrella sort of sense, he does speak to the community. That is so often. Just hammered by some people just don't understand them. Call them filthy names, and it's just like you know, we got a move on this. What world are we living on looking forward to meeting Dorothy here in a few hours? And then Chris, I've known for years. He'll be here in a while, and you're coming back in just a few minutes, and the girl code team is up next and we'll talk more about the US open haven't mentioned yet because Rory's out the Rory's having a day he's three under on the eighth hole. And so that's good. Rickie Fowler is actually in the lead at five under, but I'm glad my boy, Rory mcilroy is showing up. It's been a while. Tiger doesn't tee off for two more hours. But this is the third major in golf for twenty nineteen because remember they moved the PGA out of August and already had it in made Brooks kept going that tiger won the masters. So here we go.
