Listen: Japan And Microsoft discussed on Bill Press
"But one thing to point out here. And I and again, we don't know what's being proposed in Japan. Exactly. But if it self-regulation, okay, fine, if it's the industry self-regulating on a voluntary basis by creating certifications or voluntary groups to join okay, I get that. That's fine. But if it's government regulation being run by industry people where they're they're selecting the head of coin base or the head of you know, some other company, and then they're bringing them in and putting them on a government regulatory board, which can then pass regulations to affect other companies. That's bad always going to be bad. I don't even know what they mean by self regulation. Is it seems kind of I lead by that comes usually because the government's threatening right, right? Well, no, that's not true at all. Oh, yeah. What has happened in the Microsoft certification? So there's so many different certifications, for instance, in the computer world. But that's not it's kind of like a level of training. Right. Yeah. That's what I'm talking about self regulation certification serfs serve say, for instance, in the restaurant industry goes above and beyond government mandatory minimums as far as keeping things safe. That's not really an industry or self regulating and self because things are required. That's what I'm talking to its self regulation. It's kits doesn't know. But you can add like know. Does something about the talking about mandates. It's not clear I'm talking about voluntary of mandate or voluntary. Collusion. That's not not. Everybody participates in house. I don't see that self-regulation. That's it might help. You'll not everybody has to participate. But it is a essentially a form of regulation that is voluntary. Now, you could argue that the term regulation always has to do. With government words is not necessarily the best rates. The words problem, then let's talk about it as voluntary certification rather than regulations like the word regulation. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know, if if the word regulation, always evokes com connotation of government force, then let's throw that word out and talk about some sort of forced by some parts talk about voluntary standards, right? Standards. I like that. Yeah. So that's what I'm talking about which it keeps a certain level. And I'm good with protocols, but again all voluntary if some company wants to ignore all of those protocols, and ignore all the standards, and you know, market a dangerous product or whatever they should be free to do that. So again, I'm talking about certifications instead of mandated regulation, so again, don't let anybody being control of government regulations because there shouldn't be any. And again, I don't know what you're talking about. But going standard."
