Survey shows American kids have doubled their online video consumption in 4 years


Angeles new disturbing numbers on kids online usage comes from common sense media a nonprofit organization that tracks young people's tech habits the group also offers guidance for parents bill Michaels has a look at the numbers the survey shows young Americans are glued to online videos for nearly an hour each day and that's twice as long as they were four years ago the survey found they're seeing the videos on services such as YouTube that are supposed to be off limits to children younger than age thirteen overall screen time hasn't changed much in those four years the average between ages eight to twelve for the purposes of this survey spend four hours in forty four minutes with entertainment media all digital devices each day for teens it was seven hours and twenty two minutes that did not include the time using devices for homework reading books or listening to
