Listen: President Donald Trump, Mexico, President Trump discussed on The Charlie Kirk Show
"All right. The media thinks you are stupid. That's right. If you're listening to this podcast on the Charlie Kirk show the media thinks you are stupid. President Trump just negotiated one of the most amazing deals with Mexico. It was a break through deal. So let's walk through this, the president United States while he's overseas while he is going through a state visit with our great friends in the United Kingdom while he's in Ireland while he's all over Europe, he realizes that he needs to get some action out of Mexico because we have a crisis on the southern border just so that everyone listening to this understands we are on pace to have over one million. That's right, one million illegal border crossings this year. It will hit it. We're on pace for hitting an all time record even Obama's department of homeland security chief. Jay Johnson said, this is a crisis. So President Trump is pretty fed up and rightfully so with Mexico's lack of action with the border crisis because you have to understand most of the people that are crossing the southern border or actually not from Mexico. They're from Nicaragua. They're from El Salvador from many Central American countries, and they go through Mexico. They go through Mexico and hit America. And there's still plenty of Mexicans that are coming into America. But most of it comes from the Central American countries. And so President Trump is just totally fed up with the so he out of nowhere decides using his constitutionally given a thority given by congress to enforce tariffs against Mexico. So what is President Trump say I'm gonna put a five percent tariff on Mexican goods, unless they get their act? Together people start to freak out the media says Donald Trump's gonna start a trade war with Mexico, and they say that he has no idea what he's doing. And this descends into. Day after day of media distortion in media representation of the president's even his mental stability. Essentially, they say, oh, the president's totally lost that, now our greatest our second greatest trade partner, or whatever Mexico, third greatest trade partner with us ends up. You know, he's going to be put in jeopardy because of the president and then back on Friday. Of course, you know, the media buried this over the weekend. The president announced in incredible breakthrough in incredible breakthrough where Mexico then out of nowhere agreed to send six thousand that's right. Six thousand troops to their own, southern border to prevent illegal, border crossings, Mexico, also agreed to expand a US policy is important, which migrants seeking asylum in the United States will be sent pecked Mexico think about this to wait for their claims to be adjudicated a process that can take months, and in return, the president backed away from his tariff threat, and this deal was negotiated according to set. Terry of state. Mike Pompeo terrific guy. He said quote the scale the effort that commitment here is very different from what we were able to achieve back in December. He continued Friday's deal, quote wouldn't have happened if President Trump hadn't threatened to impose an escalating series of tariffs on Mexican imports. He said, it's what prompted the series of conversations, Pompeo also called this quote diplomacy at its finest. The US has been sending about two hundred asylum-seekers a date. Think about that two hundred just give him perspective. That's like that is essentially seven school buses on average of asylum seekers a day back to Mexico under the new deal. The US could send back now thousands every single day. We now the capacity to do this full throttle, quote, that's a quote, from our secretary of state, how exciting in a way that makes us fundamentally different in the calculus, but going back to how I opened the segment. The media thinks you're stupid. The media thinks you're stupid New York Times, quote when reporting on this Mexico deal Mexico agreed to take border actions months before Trump announced tariff deal. There's no evidence of that from FOX, quote, Trump's possibly fake deal with Mexico explained. He says there are secret provisions that make it look, quote, less fake from think progress. Wonderful left-wing outlet Trump threatens new tariffs. Over a deal that Mexico says doesn't exist. Dallas Morning News, quote, Mexican tariffs. Bad Chinese tariffs. Good question. Mark, Trump's trade war lifts, quote factory North America and the other. And of course, also from Dallas Morning News. Trump suspense threat of Mexico tariffs, though, with Texas teetering in twenty twenty he was playing with fire my personal favorite from the Washington Post quote how Mexico talked Trump out of a tariff threat with immigration crackdown packed. You have to understand the media. Is working to paint Trump's deal with Mexico, as a loss, or stainless, even though it is clearly a win for us, the American people, and this administration, the Washington Post wants you to think that Mexico sue Donald Trump's ego and helped him see the air in his ways, and they talked him out of it, there's no evidence of this. This is so important. The media is painting ally, that Donald Trump is a Radic and somehow Mexico put him back into action. But let's actually look at this as if it was a math Matic and scientific equation, let's start backwards. Because as we all know in math, you can start on both sides, either gonna start on the right of the equation, or you start on the left of the equation. If you're looking at the equal son. So let's look at the output, Mexico agrees to send six thousand troops to the southern their southern border Mexico, agrees and has a commitment to changing the asylum rules. Okay. So that's the output. We got that right now. What input do. We also know while the other input that we know is that Donald Trump threatened tariffs five days before that happened. Maybe that input had something to do with this shocking output, maybe his threat of tariffs, maybe his threat of tariffs, 'cause they're unbelievably historic, and quick action. Maybe Donald Trump looking at this, in an entrepreneurial creative fashion only like a businessman would made them snap right into action. But the media thinks you are stupid. The media thinks if the media believes and thinks this happened magically, and it was Mexico that volunteered all this, of course, not, and this is so important to remember President Donald Trump did this with no help from congress. President Donald Trump did this with no help from Nancy Pelosi and I will say we as conservatives don't like giving too much power to the executive we as. Conservatives don't like eating too much power the president. But I'm glad that the president has the power to put on tariffs a power that was given to him by congress because if you did not have that power, the president would not have been able to make this threat. The president would not have been able to make America a better place. We are better served that this deal with Mexico has been done now. Rumors are now suggesting that Mexico will eventually even become what's called a quote safe third country. What is that? And why does this matter does kind of in the weeds, but bear with me for a second? So to quote USA today, the Trump administration wants Mexico to agree to take almost every asylum seeker that crosses Mexico. So, essentially, it would push the Mexican government to sign an agreement that would essentially bar Central American migrants from trying to gain asylum in the United States at USA continued by saying, if that happened, the US and Mexico could sign a little known treaty called a safe third country agreement that would carry huge implications for immigration, both countries and finally migrants generally must seek asylum. In the first country, they reached. So let's build this out again. This is thanks to the USA today. If a migrant is come from Nicaragua, the first country that they hit as long as it's not considered a quote dangerous country. That's the country that they can gain asylum in. But right now Mexico's essentially, quote, an asylum, free writer, and that's according to Mark Krikorian, the executive director of the center from Gration studies. He said that to USA today. So this would essentially mean that if they came as far as north the United States, of course, the United States is a richer, and more peaceful country than Mexico, but Mexico is not considered a quote, dangerous country that they could be turned back. That could be turned back to Mexico Nicaragua. So let's build this out. If someone is actually seeking asylum. You can't seek the best country in the world. You can't just seek the country of your choosing. You're seeking asylum. You don't get a menu of options and say, yes, I want the caviar encrusted, filet Mignon, I'm sorry. That's not the way it works. You don't get to choose. Choose the best country in the world. You get to choose a better country. You choose a country that is not, quote, currently one that would deem as one that you could flee asylum from this is super important, because designating Mexico as a safe asylum, country, would quote from Kirkorian would really take away, most of the incentive for migrants to trek across from Mexico to the US border. This would reduce the amount of asylum seekers, come in the United States tremendously. We have a crisis on our southern border right now and Donald Trump did more progress to solve this crisis through an innovative solution that no one thought possible a five percent potential tariff on Mexico. Yes. That would have hurt some imports. Yes. That would have heard some trade, but actually didn't get naked just the threat of five percent tariff. What also made that possible the fact that President Trump actually put forth real tariffs against China. The fact that President Trump actually is engaging in trade negotiations with China with real tariffs made Mexico. No, they he meant biz. Business, Mexico wanted nothing to do with that. And so now Mexico's steps up tremendously. Mexico's said, we're gonna put six thousand troops on our southern border. So let's go back to the equation. We know the output, Mexico pudding, six thousand troops on the southern border. What made them do that? Donald Trump potentially putting tariffs on them. None of this fake news that the media was putting forth that Mexico already agreed to this. None of that is correct. None of this is true, the media thinks you're stupid. The media thinks you did not notice that President Trump wanted to put the tariffs on. I can I ask to survey ships about this ASCA first question? Where's the public polling on this whereas the polling been on Donald Trump's Mexico trade deal might be out there? But I haven't seen it. I haven't seen any public polling approval. Because if it was out there it would be everywhere fourteen percent only approve of Donald Trump. I guarantee you sixty seventy percent of Americans are happy with this Mexican trade deal this deal that's been done, not just the Mexican trade. But for more to get Mexico to the. Table. The factor seeing none of the polling is because the media does not want that polling to be seen. See the media is very quick to put polling on their headlines when it makes Donald Trump look bed. I guarantee you, they've done the polling, and they've probably retracted, we'd actually don't want this polling to be shown the second part. Is this does the media really not want us to remember that Donald Trump threatened tariffs? If you look article by article they don't actually mention the tariffs,."
