UK signs trade deal with Canada to prepare for Brexit


Canada and Britain have reached an interim trade pact agreement. As Dan Carbon Chuck reports, The new deal replaces the current agreement. If no agreement had been reached by the Brexit deadline of December, 31st new tariffs would have been triggered on a range of Canadian exports. The interim deal will address that until a formal agreement can be negotiated next year. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called it a good moment that sends a strong message about the importance of global trade. His British counterpart, Boris Johnson said it would help both countries rebuild their economies after the Corona virus pandemic.
