A partial victory for the trump administration Tuesday in its effort to resume executions of federal death row prisoners federal inmates were challenging a decision by the justice department to restart federal executions after a sixteen year break with five executions already scheduled a three judge panel of a federal appeals court overruled a lower court that the DOJ decision violates the federal death penalty act but the court sent the case back for review of additional claims made by the inmates as a result it's not clear when federal executions might
