Listen: Lebron James, Lakers, Lonzo discussed on Mornings with Keyshawn, Jorge & LZ
"Decades, decades, starving on the side. A car here. Forever. Be really hungry on a long ten hour drive on the side of road either. No, that's not gonna happen doing that Friday and Saturday. Trying to GPS me man. I know what you do. See, I won't ask about false dome. Lakers are in Vegas tonight. They're gonna play. The Golden State Warriors getting closer to the end of the preseason coaster to the games that actually count. But tonight matters because tonight is the first night they were gonna get to see Lonzo ball with this version of Lakers. The LeBron James regime Rondo Michael Beasley, land Stevenson, all of these guys, we're going to get to see Lonzo for the first time in it. It's good for a number of different reasons, but I can't wait to see what LeBron is able to do for Lonzo the way that we've gotten to see what LeBron was able to do for Brandon Ingram and some of the other Lakers that he just elevates everybody. And if we take the best of Lonzo and put it with LeBron an elevated LeBron that could be some special, it can be really cool to watch. It could be an think that we're gonna see something special LeBron James is, you know, a lot of people say, oh, he knows what he's doing. Everything is calculated. If that's the case. Then obviously he knows what he's talking about his calculated and he's this person who likes to flow things out there. He's putting it out. There and he's saying these sort of things about Ingram about ball about Rondo coups because he believes it, so he wants to get out in front of it. So if he's saying it must be true about the type of players that he believed they can be. The theme is interesting about this dynamic with LeBron. So if you will does that Lonzo when he was on the four for the Lakers for those fifty gains headed team playing in credibly, fast, efficient, offensive rate. Yup. And according to end analytics, the Bron James was were was among the slowest players in the NBA last season. Now, of course, that was deliberate pace because he had to pay himself. He was still in second. Exactly. So it's gonna be interesting to see when you have a point guard that was running one of the fastest paced offenses last season would they player who was cynically anyway among the slowest a place like which to is going to give the pace of play going to speed up and does. LeBron's going speeding up, whereas the Bronco required them to slow everything we've heard from Luke believes to believe that it's going to go fast that they're not going to back off of it because LeBron is here that they're not going to try to slow down because LeBron's going into a sixty. They're going to try to push pace the same way that they did last year. That's preseason chitchat as the great Mike Tyson says, everyone has a plan and get hit in the face, right? Well, everyone's gotta plan until the ball goes up and your ten games in trying to figure out what works and what doesn't work. And that's just not about pace of play, but also rotation starting lineup, excetera that's going to be a lot of experimentation. Pace of play will be among those things. This is why I'm excited to see lawns tonight. Like you said, I was he what works? What? What is the right mix of guys? We're not gonna have a definitive answer to that at the end of the night time, but we'll have some sort of idea of something that, ooh, that looks interesting more of that, or you look at something that looks kind of clunky or maybe that's not a great mix of guys. And this is why I think it's important that Lonzo. Is out there and it never mind that he needs to work on his shot. Never mind that it's nice to see him healthy. It's just we need to start figuring out because you got liquors gonna play what nine guys probably regularly more. You'll be more than that. Be more. I think it'd be more because when you experiment in trying to figure out what works playing guys as part of that experimentation, that doesn't mean that everyone's gonna find a way getting double digit minutes. But it went surprise me if there were matchups in which land Stevenson plate more than other matches just because of the fit and because of how he's nine or ten in anyway, I think so.."
