Listen: President Obama, Donald Trump, President Trump discussed on Anderson Cooper 360
"This is one of those nights when someone inevitably looks at the number of guests and the size of the set and says you're gonna need a bigger boat. Joining us tonight is David chalian. Emily henderson. David Axelrod, glory boards are also van Jones. Jennifer Granholm, Rick Santorum in David urban how much impact do you think? President Trump former President Obama can have in these final days at this point. It's about motivation getting out your basement blizzak not persuasion, so they're not exactly traveling to places where they're not popular. And you know, you don't see Donald Trump in New Jersey, for example, suburban New Jersey, even Bedminster, whereas golf courses because there's a possibility that congressman could lose a seat, they're Republican and you're not going to see Barack Obama in Montana. So at this point, I believe that they're not going to persuade anybody. But it does remind people I think about the stakes of the election because you had these two presidents dueling each other tonight. Obama said, you know, no, one was indicted in my administration and reminding people about pre existing conditions and makes the case very well. For democrats. And you, you know, you have Trump out there doing what Donald Trump does which is talk about immigration, caravan, etc. So they're not convincing anybody. But it will motivate people who've did how much for President Obama's this about his legacy your, which is just personal. I mean, well, I don't I don't think that it's personal. I think that you know, this has been a big step for him. Because he he's he's been trying to search for the way to be a former president in the Trump era. And I think he's decided that this particular election is deeply important. I think he, you know, I don't think it's I think it's less about a legacy more about deep concern about the direction of the country. There's no doubt that anybody with any sense would know that the things that the president has done to dismantle some of the things that President Obama worked hard on our sim to him. But I honestly people have been urging him to come out for months and months and months, and I think he finally felt like. He had an obligation to speak out. Then you wanna play the this other glory was just referencing a prisoner. I'm talking about nobody in his administration. Having Davidson Swanson. So now they've had two years of total control and wash whatever they done with that. No, no, no. It's not true. They haven't done nothing. They've done something they promised. They were going to take on corruption awash. Instead they've racked up enough indictments to feel the football team. Nobody in my frustration got indicted.."
