D.C., Maryland, American Legion Bridge discussed on WTOP 24 Hour News

Two 95. Southbound traffic from Maryland on kenilworth avenue was diverted at eastern avenue. That is no longer the case. Traffic is now coming inbound on D.C. two 95 toward the emergency work zone, centered around benning road. It is unclear if southbound traffic gets by on D.C. two 95, or if it gets by on the service road, or if it's diverted burrows avenue, but there is a change in any event you probably don't want to go that way. There's a lot of work to undo. We've been telling you about the bad asphalt that rendered a number of vehicles disabled with tire damage earlier this afternoon. And ever since then, the southbound lanes of D.C. two 95 south have been closed, but we can tell you the traffic is no longer diverted at eastern avenue. They are changing things around a bit. So we'll have to get more and you'll stay tuned. In the meantime, a lot of overflow on New York avenue through northeast and more traffic on the interloop of the beltway through prince George's county, at least one disabled car past the BW Parkway exodus now on the shoulder. Elsewhere on the beltway traffic will be slow like the outer loop through Alexandria and in Virginia on the outer loop south of Tyson's with the crash after 66. In the left lane and on the shoulder, hopefully soon, if not already. Beltway traffic's heavy both loops toward the American legion bridge. And southbound on 95 traffic is slow in woodbridge but slower at a Quantico through Stafford county. In Maryland on route 50, at the bay bridge, the westbound span is now open, and the latter has been cleared out of the way. I'm Dave dillin WTO traffic. All right, Amelia Draper at storm team four Amelia we've got another good one going here today. A beautiful evening out there, Sean, we have temperatures in the 70s and 80s through the evening hours
