Listen: Barack Obama, White House, Donald Trump discussed on Pat Gray Unleashed
"At great is here and I'm really glad you are as well triple eight, nine hundred thirty three Ninety-three the White House economic adviser took issue with some of the things Barack Obama said the other day because well, he took credit for what's going on now. Sky's unbelievable. He took none of the blame for when things are going badly, all of the credit for when he's been out of office for two years. Unbelievable. So Kevin Hassett, who's the chair of the White House council of economic advisers dispelled the notion to use Obama's word clear this notion that former President Barack Obama can claim credit for the recent economic boom has occurred during the Trump administration. Take a look of the hypotheses. This been floating around about the economy lately is that the strong economy that we're seeing is just a continuation of recent trends. And you know, since we're the nerds at the White House, we decided that this is testable hypothesis and so that what we can do is we can go out and we can estimate reason trends that is trends that ran in the economy up to the point of the last election and then compare the latest data to the recent. And so the blue part to the left of the slide is what happened from the two thousand twelve election through the two thousand sixteen election and the dotted blue line is the Trent President Trump inherited from the previous president and the red line is what actually happened with data. And so I think that if you look at this chart, you could see that the first thing is small business optimism. The middle chart is the percent reporting now is a good time to expand. The last one is the percent expecting higher real sales in six months. I think if you look at any of those, you'd say, jeez, that doesn't really look like the continuation of trans. In these charts just they trend away upward as of 2017, holy. And that's just and that's a small sample. This guy had all sorts of fun stuff for us the digesting. But that was just a small makes the point that shut up Obama. That's great because, you know, it's been our experience with Republicans. They don't defend themselves. They hear the Obama nonsense. They just don't even address it. They don't even talk about it, not so with the Trump administration. Again, that's why he's been elected. That's a good point. Think about this. This was a White House, whatever you call himself a nerd or whatever, you know, crunching the numbers and everything outside of Trump who is defending themselves. McConnell doesn't defend anything GOP does. And of course, when the GOP does to George W Bush and defended himself never elected. Republicans are defending themselves against these attacks from someone as as well known as Obama couldn't do it to anybody if they want to. But if. Mama's gonna call out. See that's why they're struggling in the polls because they don't stand for anything and b. stuff that they could hang their hat on. They don't. They're terrible. They're terrible appear. And it always amazes me would Democrats talk about how bad they are at. Are you kidding me? That's all you guys do is PR you don't stand for anything. You just do p r Republicans are inept in almost every way, but they're especially bad with public public relations and the perception of them. And so this is great to hit back at it and say, shut up your, it's not even close to a continuation of your policies.."
