Health Department, Twitter, Nashville discussed on On The Edge With Thayrone

Automatic TRANSCRIPT

The discussion involves the low number of Corona virus cases emerging from bars and restaurants and howto handle that, and, most disturbingly, how to keep it from the public on June 3rd. We have contact racing was given a small view of growing virus clusters, construction and nursing homes were found to be causing problems with more than 1000 cases traced each category But bars and restaurants reported just 22 cases. Leslie Waller from the Health Department asks. This isn't going to be publicly released right? Just info from Mayor's office. Correct not for public consumption right Senior advisor Benjamin Eagles a month later, the health Department was asked point blank about the rumor. They're only 80 cases traced to bars and restaurants. A Tennessee lookout reporter Nate Row, asked. The figure you gave more than 80 does lead to a natural question. If there have been over 20,000 positive cases of Copan, 19 and Davidson and only 80, or so are traced to restaurants and bars. Doesn't that mean restaurants and bars aren't a very big problem? Health Department official Brian Todd asked five Health Department officials. Please advise how you recommend. I respond and the name of the top of the responses clipped off. But you may find the answer unacceptable. Quote. My two cents. We have certainly refused to give counts per bar because those numbers are low per site because still release the total, though, and then a response to the over 80 could be because that numbers increasing all the time. And we don't want to say a specific number in quote, and neither the Health Department of the mayor's office would confirm the authenticity of the emails. But council member Steve Glover had a metro staff attorney inquire. Well, Wow, you imagine Because here we are. You were talking about earlier today I misunderstood. It looked like the governor was saying that he was ready to fully open Texas on Monday. That's not the case. Get 75% right bars, for some reason still get local restaurants can they could increase their capacity and I actually for those of you follow me on Twitter. I tweeted the original thing. And then I tweeted an actual story from the Houston Chronicle outlining exactly what he did say shortly thereafter, they're both part of the same. Threat. I don't delete anything on Twitter unless I misspelled something, so I'll stand behind what I tweet, and I made sure that I that I put the corrected story on there. Having said that, then why aren't bar is opening? I mean, do we have any numbers in Texas? Have we heard that bars and restaurants are spreading it? And now tonight, and it feels like and again, Greg habits a good guy. He's a Republican. He's a conservative. He's a guy I don't think would would do what they're alleging. Here in Nashville, looks like they're alleging their fudging the numbers, or at least hiding. The numbers from the public pays their salary. But if we don't have numbers that show bars and restaurants are particularly susceptible. Here's why, But why are we doing it? And again? Restaurants are opening more. They've been open, but they're opening even more to higher capacity. Do we have any clue? Does the governor or his office give us any reason why bar's still can't be opened? You go by all the liquor you wanted to store, but you can't go to the bar. Why? That's a good question. I haven't seen any numbers. I'll look into it. To see if they put amount as faras, what bars and restaurants about Corona virus cases. Like what is Nashville doing again? I see why the left want to keep things as close as possible Because it it makes people scared to death. We gotta get rid of Trump in November. I understand the political ramifications here, but there's got to be some reason. Why they're actually targeting bars, and I see a lot of people on social media. A lot of people emailed me. A lot of people will send me a note or a message. And they'll say, you know we own a bar and we're suffering we own. This place is something that we put our life savings into. Why is it that they're attacking us and specifying we specifically can open up. When we got all these other businesses that are open. It doesn't make sense. And this is all people are looking for. We just want people to make sense out of it. You want us to close something down? Fine. Tell us why. You want us to? To make a special provision social distancing only certain people inside. Great. Tell us why you said that you're going to reopen, but only 75%. Why not 100% And what's gonna take to get us to where a bar is OK? Just as a restaurant is okay? If you serve food in the bar, is it then a restaurant that serves liquor, or I mean, do we know what that delineation is? Why NOAA Lot of places They've put food trucks on the premises. So what? They're selling food that is,.
