Criticism of how he handled the release of the mullahs report while being pressed by a Senate Judiciary committee today on Capitol Hill bar spent much of a hearing slamming special investigator Robert Muller's findings during the Rosh Russia probe bar is now saying he will not be attending. Tomorrow's House Judiciary committee hearing on the mullahs report. We're going to talk more about at all we're going to turn to the KCBS ring central Newsline and speak with Andrew stereo. He's a congressional reporter for politico. Andrew, I know you were at the hearing today, but I wanted to ask you about the most recent development. I why is William bar saying he will not testify. Before the house committee tomorrow. Right. So he's not gonna show up to the house today. Share a committee hearing tomorrow, Eddie MO. Simply be an each year hearing, and it's because the committee today formally adopted the ground rules for that hearing which stipulate that the committee's lawyers, meaning the staff members who are basically service counsel to the committee will be allowed to to ask questions to the attorney general the Justice department had objected to that they said, it was inappropriate and unnecessary and disrespectful to the attorney general in their word, and that was sort of a dispute that caused the attorney general told committee say, no, thanks to the House Judiciary committee. Let's talk about the testimony that you saw today. The Senate Judiciary committee hearing things got a little contentious at times. That's right. The attorney Daryl sparred with Democrats who some of whom said he should resign his face, essentially and others accused him of trying to sort of undercut and undermine the credibility of the special counsel, and his sort of his legal framework his legal idea that his theories that were outlined in his report that we saw a couple of weeks ago. You think Democrats are gonna make good on their threat in that they're going to they're going to subpoena him. Well, I I think what the House Democrats want to do is deal with the subpoena for the full unredacted Muller report, which was due today. But the Justice department flew off Democrats again on that subpoena telling them in a letter just about our ago that they're not going to provide the full unredacted Muller reports. So chairman Jerry Nadler wants to deal with that issue. I possibly hold the attorney general in contempt of congress. And then he said after that he would move onto issuing subpoena to compel bar essentially, come back to Capitol Hill and explain themselves. So he wants to do those things essentially one after the other congress would like to hear from Robert Muller's. Well, do you think it's more likely that Mr. mother will testify given some of the exchanges today with William bar? Right. So actually an hour ago chairman Nadler told us that they are eyeing may fifteen for special counsel baller to come testify before the House Judiciary committee. The details are still being worked out. But he appeared confident when I asked him about it when I asked whether he thinks actually happened. So make teen date there. I'm for testimony Lindsey Graham who chairs the Senate committee has indicated that he's not interested in at this point in bringing special counsel Muller in his words. It's all over. Thank you very much for your time. We appreciate it. We've been speaking with Andrew Desa Darrow. He is the congressional reporter for.
