With national elections just ten days away, Italy's right-wing politicians refuted widespread suspicion they took funding from Russian president Vladimir Putin, U.S. intelligence says Russia tried to influence politics of other countries by giving at least $300 million to foreign political parties and more than two dozen countries. A bill introduced with sponsors, including Democrat Richard blumenthal and Republican Lindsey Graham, would impose penalties on Moscow like allowing from lawsuits in U.S. courts over its actions during the invasion of Ukraine.
