Listen: Paul Manafort, Kerry Schwinn, CBS discussed on The KDKA Radio Afternoon News with Robert Mangino
"Ten twenty Katie k. a, man's you. Know so great to have you. A we are Hello We still. Good Second there Hey Kerry hamburgers. Joining us I thought I had a bit of an issue here from my facilities here in, San Juan but Kerry schwinn hammers joining us from. AccuWeather cherry we have concerns about the weather that's coming through national weather service issuing a severe thunderstorm watch for many of the counties. Around Pittsburgh what's the latest that? You, have well the latest right now is we're tracking an area of thunderstorms that stretches from. Near, wells Berg Saint Clair's Ville barnesville on south and west, and Ohio and that's all marching off to the east as. We speak I do believe that some of these storms will move into the Pittsburgh area probably within the next couple of hours could produce some wind gusts up around fifty sixty miles. Per hour certainly some. Heavy rainfall and of course any additional. Heavy rain we could exacerbate some of those. Flooding problems I don't think we're quite done. After that there are some storms back across central Ohio. As well we're going to be keeping an eye on as they, move eastward but I think typically will be a little. More spotty once we head past the, next A. Couple of hours back to you Okay so the issue. Of severe thunderstorms we have that clearly now I understand from the forecast that we are a, little concerned when it comes to? Flooding how, severe can the flooding be you know I think it's going to be kind of an isolated thing, because these storms are relatively isolated nature but You know and they're. Moving at a relatively quick pace as well but, certainly places that have had recent flooding problems or. Certainly places, for example across Jefferson County there could be, some. Localized downpours and certainly some exacerbated flooding in those areas a. Lot of places we'll get by with seeing nothing more than a shower as well, but I think, over the next couple of hours that's where we're going to have the biggest concern all right Kerry schwinn and hammer joining us from AccuWeather Kerry thank you very much to, appreciate it, about twenty minutes ago we had a. Special report, for you, a report from CBS. News on two issues one Michael Cohen and the guilty pleas that are being entered into this afternoon and the jury and the. Paul. Manafort case coming back with some guilty verdicts not all. On all eighteen counts but some here's the report from just minutes ago CBS news special report, former Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort? Has been, found guilty on some of the eighteen counts against him in his federal tax and Bank fraud trial, CBS Steve Dorsey, in Washington to, break down the partial verdict Bill after deliberating for four days the jury has. Found Paul Manafort guilty on eight of the eighteen counts he faced of those guilty counts. Five dealt with tax fraud one with failure to, disclose a foreign Bank account and two with Bank. Fraud a, mistrial was declared on ten others Manafort could, be. Sentenced to years in prison the judge also asked the six. Male and six female jurors if they wanted to be publicly identified their unanimously said, they do not, want their identities released meanwhile manafort's attorneys must also prepare for another trial set to begin next month in federal court in the district of Columbia on charges stemming from the, special counsel's, investigation Bill CBS's Steve Dorsey in Washington. CBS news, special report, I'm Bill Rakoff all. Right we also have Michael Cohen in court today surrendered himself to the FBI in New York now in custody with federal authorities And has, been in. A courtroom this. Afternoon pleading. Guilty and we're looking at a straight plea, deal as very real possibility that's the expectation. To resolve the case against him Could there be cooperation we're still waiting for some of. The details regarding that but you couple this with the. Manafort case and the guilty verdict on eight of eighteen counts, you can look at this as one of two ways it's a, victory and that it wasn't all eighteen counts there were. Ten that the jury came back with and said not guilty on so good, news for Paul Manafort in that respect. Good news for the. President to some extent as Well Paul Manafort still hoping for he's going to be getting a pardon in. This and that's the assumption at this point and you look back what's really interesting too is that there was no defense that was really mounted outside of the cross examination and even with that when the fence was in their closing arguments suggesting that the prosecution just didn't present enough evidence to get a guilty verdict to. Make their case at least on ten of them It seems as though the jury agreed we'll continue, to monitor this and we will have another update for you coming up in just a few. Minutes from CBS news once again we are broadcasting live. From San Juan Puerto Rico we are down here with. Brothers brother they're extending their operations here their cooperation with a, couple of the hospitals and they're also moving onto schools because so, many schools were just so poorly damage just absolutely devastating. I looked through some of the photographs of what it looked like as the, storm completed its impact and what many. Businesses including the fine. People here at my host company Louis tone that are doing."
