Listen: NCAA amends agent rules to no longer require college degree
"Win win. The n._c._a._a. instituted a bunch of new rules for agents who would represent players who are testing the waters for the n._b._a. Going to combine <hes> the draft and all that kind of stuff it included. You needed to be a certified member of the m._v._p. The players association you needed to pass the test <hes> that the n._c._a._a. Would give you an you had to have bachelor's degree those things okay this rule <hes> particularly the one about having a bachelor's quickly became known as the rich paul rule because rich paul of clutch sports does not have a b._a. He is a certified agent. Why not never finished college okay. I'm assuming that's why <hes> <hes> obviously guy clearly built clutch sports up you know he's he's a qualified agent presenting the around that so rich paul today hey publishes on the athletic an op ed talking about how stupid unfair. The requirement of having a bachelor's is for to be able to represent these says being certified reasonable even passing the subset occasion to passing this test of the n._b._a. Ah the n._c._a._a. Would mandate <hes> is reasonable ease. He didn't quite get it but he's willing to kind of go there but points out that the requirement for a bachelor's degree is not only <hes> unnecessary because very little about acquiring your bachelors. I was a polycyclic history. Major like that makes me qualified to represent somebody at no but it would allow me to according to this rule. My brother was a theater major. I can gonna help him probably not but it also makes it so people who are have less access to college less ability to pay for it less ability. Take on loans. Whatever might be you know. People who tend to be poor minorities things like that lose access to this avenue of representation and ain't pointed that out like you're not only. You're cutting talent. You're also adding a requirement. It just doesn't need to be there but seven hours later. The say announced the they will no longer be requiring a bachelor's degree. I agree so this is a win. I think for common sense anti-rich ball. I mean rich paul czar there. We're that was one of his points. What's the next group of rich paul's he was able to get through it in part because he had lebron james with him and that helps rich paul very talented guy but it helps that lebron james but the next guy might not and the guy after that probably won't you know maybe you don't have a lebron james with you. It's just it's a stupid rule. All and you see this all over the business world not just basketball. It's everywhere where you insist on qualifications like a bachelor's degree to get a job that where it's just not necessary sir."
