‘Miracle on Ice’: U.S. Olympic hockey team’s upset resonates 40 years later


Saturday marked forty years since the U. S. Olympic hockey team achieve what became known as the miracle on ice when they upset the four time gold medal winning Soviet Union at the nineteen eighty Olympics in Lake Placid New York Saturday night the team was honored before the game between the Los Vegas golden knights of the Florida Panthers announcer al Michaels who called the game at the time and famously asked do you believe in miracles yes was on hand for Saturday's ceremony it was a headline in The New York Times today it is a great story and the headline was forty years later it's still America courtesy of the NHL and the AT&T sports
