Washington State to Replace US Capitol Statue With Native American Activist
State is replacing one of its statues of the U. S. Capitol. The depiction of missionary Marcus Whitman will be replaced with one of Native American activist Billy Frank Jr Governor Jay Inslee. He was a warrior for the natural world. And the values that we hold so dear in the state of Washington, Billy Frank Jr was long time environmental activist and advocate for conservation, especially when it came to salmon. It's unclear exactly when his statue will be installed.
