US Retail Sales Rose 0.6% in June


Retail sales were back on the rise last month the commerce department says retail sales rose a seasonally adjusted six tenths of a percent in June after dialing back their spending in may in favor of vacations and other services Americans spent more last month on clothing and electronics as well as dining out bars and restaurants saw their sales rise two point three percent clothing stores were up two point six percent and electronic shop saw their sales gained three point three percent the overall increase came as a surprise to Wall Street analysts who had expected June sales to fall slightly though at least one economist suggests higher prices could account for the rice Ben Thomas Washington
