In Effort To Combat Rash Of New York City Gun Violence, NYPD To Change Officers’ Schedules, Require Many To Work Weekend Day


Gun violence on the weekends in New York City, some NYPD officers they're going to see their schedules change more from WCBS reporter Christie Collision reports say the NYPD officers below the rankings of sergeant or captain who normally have weekends off we'll have to start either a Sunday through Thursday or to stay through Saturday shift. Shooting crimes have gone up in the city since the start of the summer, and NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea had apparently sent out a memo saying that only a third of NYPD officers will be off weekends and that solid schedules that comply with the memo should be locked in by the end of the month.
