"Hello Jim Leo LaPorte. The Tech Guy. Good Morning Leo's thanks for having me. Thanks for COM. I'm a I'm a bit of a Luddite and leftover from the olden days of Great Stereo audio and I have discovered the sonos amplifier wire which I have hooked up to a couple of clips speakers and it sounds great. I've got my multimedia setup all tied up which includes a turntable by the away nice. Well you know one of the reasons you use a Sonos. Instead of say an ice Macintosh too damp is because the Sonos is Internet connected. And so you can control it with your phone. And you can stream audio from a variety of music and other kinds of streaming services. So it's virtually anything ever recorded. It's kind of cool. I'm a huge Sonos Fan. I From years ago I have an ungodly amount of sonar equipment and you're smart to put on the clips because as a really great classic speakers. Yes they are. Yeah Yeah. Plus they're headquartered in Indianapolis Indiana on. I'm kind of a halfway hoosiers so jim this is clipped. I guess they're still around are they. I mean I remember the old days of the giant wooden enclosed. Cliffdale make they still make all that stuff they do. We're going to pay dearly for it. I'd love a pair of base. Yeah you could you get the Low scholars and stuff like that but But they also do now the kind of more modern US be or New Bluetooth speakers and they do all that but the ones I have. uh-huh are just hardwired so very nice. Yeah that's a that's A. That's a nice combination. Yeah so here's my dilemma. I was watching a movie the the other day and it's and on the credits. It said Stereo mix by and they went. Oh No it's GonNa hire a guy to do a stereo mix mix all you surround. Sound is partaken over the next thing. I know you're you'RE GONNA YOU'RE GONNA cut. You can cut me out. Somebody ready for doing a stereo. Mix Stereo Mix. That's fantastic so I kind of I think this is a good thing. So you're right most movies now now and are mixed in five point one or seven point one they're in dolby encoded And that's because people with fancy homes theaters might have all of those and speakers. You know six seven eight speakers but most people don't and often I get one of the calls I get a lot is. I can't understand dialogue in a movie because when it's mixed that way the assumption is you have a center channel dedicated to dialogue a speaker just for voice. And when it's done that way and you do you have the proper speakers you can understand the dialogue but when you mix that whole thing down to just one or two speakers often the music the sound effects are so much louder the dialogue. You can't make out what anybody's saying so I think this is a response to that effect. I think this is something new. Not Something Oh yeah I don't think this is is a A A T beginning of the end for old stereo mixes. I think this is something that they have actually do it. I think for for a while. There was this brief period of time where everything was five one and it wasn't a good thing for people who didn't have all those speakers so I hope I hope this is a trend in the positive direction right now. You know we have a lot of listeners in Hollywood so if you're in Hollywood and you're making movies or making TV shows be aware of this. Not Everybody has that fancy Dan Dan System. You've got in your house or your studio remixing area or Edit Bay. Most people don't have multiple speakers so give us an ice Hicks there. There was a time when when Stereo in movie theater was actually cre- channel on the right time ago center channel left. Uh right for a long time. I had this argument got Wilkinson because I only had two speakers and I love that too. Nice bike you too nice speakers on my TV. And I loved it but it did get harder and harder to hear dialogue dialogue and other things were going on. Now you know Scott says well you need the upward firing at most speakers to. I don't want that so in a way. Let's say thank you considering and keeping in mind Stereo"
