Listen: Charlotte, Mark Sibito And Official discussed on Charlotte at Six
"You've heard about this winter storm right freezing. Well, if you love to play in the snow, we got your kind of weekend coming Mark sibito with the Weather Channel on the line with the smart guy thought surely by now, you guys would have backed off this snow forecast. A little. We were hoping we'd be able to but. Like we've been saying all week. It's gonna be a very thin line. Or we get a lot of snow and where we don't get quite as much snow balled and such. So I would pay close attention still. I mean, the events still twenty four hours away digitally. We've got a winter storm warning from seven pm Saturday till noon Monday. What does that mean? Well, that means going to be. And freezing rain across major problems around here, especially by Charlotte standards. You know, this is unusual for us to get this kind of a storm this early even before the official start of winter. So right around Charlotte to kind of walk me through a timeline. What are we going to get? I think what's going to happen is as we see we already can we see the echoes advancing on radar. We're going to start out. I think as we go through Saturday with just some rain that rain is going to change after midnight Saturday night now. Okay. The heaviest accumulations are going to be along and north of eighty five with the cell. But I think everybody's gonna have enough winter weather, it'd be problematic. So we started rain Saturday afternoon will become foggy this look like a typical winner. Dan, Charlotte rainy chilly in northeast win. And then Saturday night that will change it over to snow after midnight. So wherever you're going to be doing this weekend. I'd be where you're going to be by probably midnight Saturday night. I would just kind of hang tight there for a while. And then Saturday night, I think it goes to overnight. Right now, the Fisher four camps for the Charlotte. Area's a two to four inch tall just Saturday night. Sunday looks downright and just atrocious. Snow sleet, freezing rain in the morning, and then maybe a freezing rain. Snow sleet, rain mixing the afternoon. There could be additional still fall accumulations at during the daytime on Sunday. So the grand total of snow could be six to ten inches across the area north of eighty five especially I think Charlotte, it could be one of those deals where on the east side of Charlotte, you're dealing with maybe a little more freezing rain and a few inches of snow, and then you get north west of eighty five and you're dealing with all snow, and that's where the six to ten could happen. So it's going to be a really razor thin line where the transition zone is. But everybody's going to get some ugly weather the way it looks. We get heavy wet snow, which we're forecasting Saturday night into Sunday. And we get some freezing rain. We could have some power outages overnight Saturday into Sunday morning, especially when you told a little all out by Monday, six to ten inches of snow, especially north and west of Charlotte."
