Realized all the Games I play are about the end of the world including a little game called a doom eternal turtle doomed. The Turtles Turtle don't doom the turtle You play Dominic Doom Turtle who has to go save the world. Now you do not you play as the what do they call him. The the Guy Doomsayer. He plays the doomsayer boy. They really did not slow down on that. One it is it is it is hell out of the gates and in maybe an overwhelming way. There is a lot going on a lot of systems going on. And it's a lot to juggle when you're in okay. So as I'm making it to the encounters they basically have kind of arenas or theaters of combat like Little encounter space. I'm like Oh man this is a lot to take in but then once I'm redoing one of those encounters. I really liked it so I don't know if you guys have played a ton of it but there are these extra bonus challenges you can do to get keys and I really enjoy doing those. I found her baby my favorite part of the game so far. Yeah those combat puzzles. Those are Super Fun because I think because you just keep doing them over and over and figure out a technique to do it but boy abby have you have you put controller game yet on this one no I have not purchased it or done anything to get close. I didn't play the first one I started a little bit on the xbox is I think it was free with game pass. No I have a thing. I know it's I know it's not rational. I noticed that normal but I don't like games where I'm like I. It's like a first person shooter and can't look down the sides of my gun. I don't like it bothers me. It makes me feel like it's like a keyboard. Mouse should be playing it with. I don't like it and I just didn't Hook me. I think I was also playing it too late way after the wave. So maybe I'll try to get back into it but if someone who didn't play the first game I feel like everyone seems lukewarm on the newest game so I'm like I don't know if that one for me I it's not like the lower matters or anything but I will say the way this game kind of drops you in like in medias res- like in the middle of whatever the fuck conflict is going on where the hell is slowly subsuming. The Earth is not a great intro to what the Hell is going on in that game in that series and that again. It's not that important like as much as I love. The tone of Dum Dum two thousand sixteen like I can completely ignore the fact that I don't really care for the writing or the story or anything that's happening in this game. Still enjoy the combat that said by progress in this game has been fairly slow going because one animal cross came out into I just haven't felt propelled to keep playing the way I did do twenty sixteen. Yeah I I'm I'm in a similar situation where I haven't it hasn't all click from you. I have I think so. Abby there are multiple systems in the game for managing the combat. You have this thing where use your chainsaw to get ammo back because you run out of ammo constantly you use. These glory kills to get health bag. Reputable exactly the re the RIP and Tearing. And then you use this flame belts thing on your on your armor to get armor shards back And there's also a a meter for building the blood punch which is big Malay. Kill so you've got a lot of meters a lot of stuff to manage and think about it constantly and that's all within the first hour of the game like it all comes at you so quickly and then you get a dash to do these jump puzzles and you have this wall. Climb ability and The Dash is a little odd. Because it's you get two out of the gate there and if you hold on the button you just dash twice which. I didn't love at first. I'm trying to get used to it now. I always just trigger that second dash. It's a lot and they build the encounters. I feel like they build the encounters with somebody. Who's like you got all this down? Great here you go. Because they are someone who is like played a bunch of the first game going to the second one sort of as like building on that they are expected to be like anybody can hop into this one. I I when I launched it. I think I played on the medium difficulty or whatever the medium thing in the stack was. Because there's like five of them and it felt like I had the they expected me to load up my last ten minutes of Gameplay from the first one it'd be like you remember all this right and by ramped ramping. It up I am. I am enjoying it when I'm just banging my head against the combat puzzle And I also sometimes I feel like I get mixed messages from the game of sometimes it feels like I'm telling myself The coach in my head is telling me caravel. You've got to keep your feet moving. Always keep moving. Why are you stopping? Never stopped moving. And then sometimes it's like caravan stop moving and go snipe the back of that guy because you gotta go hit his rocket launchers off right so caravan stop and hide behind a pillar and kind of get out there and just snipe this guy and then hide behind a pillar and then sniper guy because there are targeted weak points on people. And you do have sticky grenade but you KINDA gotta get in their clothes and Alex. I think you ask me last week. What I play this with like how am I feeling playing on? Bass and keyboard versus controller. And I have to say I tried with a control. I had to go back to mouse and keyboard. I just could not I. I just couldn't do it. I couldn't I wasn't going to take the time to learn it on the on the controller because of that level of specificity. Yeah it's not great when you have to target those weak points on like the bigger demons and you're playing with a controller like again one of the things I liked the most about doom twenty sixteen is it is. It was a game that played very well on a controller. It did not require the level of precision that you know like more competitive first person shooters do When you were playing the campaign so this has been an adjustment like I. I could do it. I'm doing it. I'm playing it with the controller on. Ps four and getting by. But I again part of the reason I'm getting by is because I am using I'm experiencing zero shame when dial difficulty back like when if I'm beating my head against a counter too much. I'm just not having fun with like trying over and over again I'll go back down to easy and you know what it's still fun because those enemies still attack you. There's still stuff happening. They're not just standing around waiting for you to shoot them. They're still should happening. When you're playing on easy is just that? It's not the just deluge of chaos. That it is when you were playing on the higher
