Listen: RIC Edelman, Rick And Eighty Nine Percent discussed on Ric Edelman
"Financial Engines is the number one ranked investment he runs around the country by. Now, here's Rick. Welcome back to the program RIC Edelman here. Thanks for hanging around this half hour, always impressed. When people do that. I don't even know where to go with us. We we we we've recently released our book, the squirrel manifesto a book for four to eight year olds teaching little children the basics of money. And so on it and part of the rationale, we did this was, gene. And I felt you know, we write all these books all the time for adults helping you improve your financial security, but we all know that the younger you are when you learn this stuff the better off you're going to be right, right? So to help us quantify that I asked my team to do a survey of American adults who have children ages four to eight I wanted to make sure we were on the right direction. And so here's one of the questions that we asked in this national poll. Do you believe that it's extremely important that kids grow up to have good financial habits? Do you agree that it is? I think you would say yes to that. I certainly said yes to that. And in fact, eighty nine percent of those surveyed parents who have children ages four to eight eighty nine percent say yes, it's extremely important to kids. Grow up to have good financial habits. Okay. What are the other eleven percent thanking are you telling me that there's eleven percent of parents who say it's not important for their children, healthy financial habits. I don't get it. How can you? How can I it's just a survey? How could she gives me, sir? You have a moment. I would like to ask you a question. Do you believe that it's extremely important that children grow up with good financial habits? Now. How can how can anybody say? No. This was a silly poll. Okay. Because we were asking questions that obviously, you would think people are naturally going to say yes to its look. I don't care if you've ever gone to a national park in your life. If you took a survey that said, do you think it's important that we have national parks. Well, of course, who would say no to that. But excuse me, I don't I don't know if you ever go to the movies, but do you believe that? It's important that people have the ability to go to movies would ever say no to these questions. How is it that only eighty nine percent feel it's important to kids grow up with good financial habits? No. I think my kid. I'm really hopeful. My kid has massive credit card debt and files. Bankruptcy before the thirty. That's my hope for my kid. I you just have to wonder some of this stuff. But here is very serious question that we asked and the answer was rather scary. Do you ever talk."
