Listen: Mitnick, FBI And Attorney discussed on Coast to Coast AM with George Noory
"Completely different than what they had on my wanted poster poster for me, and I actually. Usually when the FBI comes in, and they know they have their target. They arrest the might away. I had been going for a few hours. And then eventually they said, well, we're not really sure if you're Mitnick or not. But what we wanna do is take you down to the volley FBI office in fingerprint you, and this will confirm whether you're Mitnick or not. And I said sure, I don't mind doing that. But can we do it in the morning and just give me the address where to show up? Right. So they took me down obviously to the FBI office. They quickly figured out who I was how long were you incarcerated other than five years. I was in. Detention center. Yeah. For four and a half years, and this was without trial because there are a lot of because of the list surrounding my case, they didn't wanna give my defense attorney access to the evidence. You know, what they call discovery? And the reason the government used was he could have be secret files that might be, you know, related to national security, even I was never accused of doing anything related at all to national security and the government wanted me to decrypt the files because I had them encrypted on my computer."
