Listen: Tom Busby, Guillermo Del Toro And US discussed on First Light
"Coming up on twenty four minutes past the hour now on I lied, Monday morning money. Asian stock markets closed generally higher in their first of the week trading. European markets open mixed and US stock futures also showing mixed results in the early morning hours business reporter, Tom Busby. Joins us now. Good morning, Tom. Good morning, Michael. It's a new week on Wall Street. It'll be short one though, all stock and bond markets closed. This Friday for Good Friday J P Morgan Chase kicked off the new earning season. Last Friday reporting a record nine billion dollars in profit. That's just in three months, even troubled Wells Fargo Bank made nearly six billion in profit. It's April fifteenth for most of us that means federal taxes are due today. But it's patriots day in Massachusetts and Maine residents there have until Wednesday. This summer may be a tough one for air travel. Southwest. Airlines canceling all flights on the Boeing seven thirty-seven max jet through August fifth under a lot of pressure from safety. Officials Fisher Price is recalling nearly five million rock and play in. Infant's sleepers that's after thirty infant deaths in just the past decade just in time for prom season rent. The runway will start renting out dresses from big designers like Fendi and Marc Jacobs for young girls. And so far this year. US retailers have announced nearly six thousand store closures that's one hundred thirty more than all of last year. All right. Thanks, Tom Busby. Exactly twenty-five pass. Now. Kevin car is here with a look at the new hell boy movie. So I was looking online earlier and social media full of complaints that this hell boy character has has no expression on his face. Good morning. Michael. This is not a remake of the original hell boy movie with you. Guillermo del Toro did with Ron Perlman. It's actually continuation. So there's sort of trying to reboot the franchise, but they've got a new director, and you got Neil Marshall instead of del Toro. And as you mentioned you've got David harbour instead of Ron Perlman. Now, David harbour is not quite Ron from. And I think it is a fine job acting. But I think the the the effects on his face and the makeup effects on his face doesn't lend itself to expression, the movie itself has an okay concept. It's about a hell boy in his team trying to stop this ancient witch from coming back to the earth and destroy humanity. So monsters going to walk the earth. The problem is in the execution and the writing it doesn't hold together told in a whole bunch of awkward flashback moments, and they have a bunch of fighting sequences that just kind of go on forever. They're heavily CGI was wondering about the language because the trailer drops an f-bomb. So as a suitable for young kids. Oh, God, not at all. No, I would not take a child to this movie. I mean, maybe a teenager if they're into this. But it's it's it's made to be a harder movie because hell boys always been kind of a rough comic from the dark horse series. But it's not a it's not something. That's like a good superhero movie for little kids or anything like that. It is rated R,"
