Listen: Chiefs release four-time Pro Bowl OLB Justin Houston
"A second. Here's a name that I thought of the during the break. The less than twenty four hours ago. The Kansas City Chiefs officially released Justin Houston, so Justin Houston will be a free agent. Justin, Houston at the right price could be a name. And that's the thing with all these free agents go oh at the right price. You got to see what the price is going to be. And it comes down to how many teams want to services of someone who does the player want to take the most money or does the player that is a little bit up there in age wanna put himself in a good position to win. A ring. Justin, Houston is thirty will turn thirty one in January. He's had a very good career as we know there's one year at twenty two sacks in a season that was back in two thousand fourteen. So he's not the twenty two sacks in a season type of player anymore, but this past year in twelve games. He had nine sacks two thousand seventeen and fifteen games. He had nine and a half sacks. Hasn't played a full sixteen games. Back to two thousand fourteen has only played sixteen games three times in his career. Justin, Houston, though at the right role at the right price. I bring him in with the Philadelphia Eagles. I would start to look in try to I would evaluate in there with this football team. Yeah. And I don't know how much this matters. But you obviously have the Doug Peterson connection to Kansas City. Yeah. That's true. Even though he was on the offense side of the ball. But you could know him, and you could have some conversations with them. I don't think it's a horrible suggestion. The question is what is Justin Houston looking for as you always get into that? Because when you're thirty you could be looking for, okay. This is the last time I may get. One more decent contract with some years on it. Or do you look for the short term deal and try to win? And the eagles are one of those destinations that are well respected in the National Football League. Now, we're teams look at them. And they think they could win and there's other organizations as well. So Justin Houston was one. I'm okay with what the eagles have done for the most part. There's some things that you question. I don't think. But from what you expect you to bring back golden Tatum fine with that. I like bringing back Brandon Graham, I don't like trading Michael Bennet. But there's ways to replace it. And obviously think very highly of Derek Barnet. It's what else do you go because that's an offensive line that we have praised it in years past for the depth. They still have some names, but they're missing now"
