The night of the economist magazine intelligence unit released their annual democracy survey ratings in which they've noted that japan and south korea have improved as they've strengthened their performance as democracies in the last year and that taiwan has improved. It's democracy writing by twenty places in the world ranking while of course hong kong under the influence of china's national security law slipped eleven
