I'm wondering, I'm David Brown. And this is business wars daily. Happy Friday, everyone, I have some bad news. Well, it's bad news for some of you others may cheer. United Airlines has officially joined the ranks of airlines the band puppies and kittens from their cabins. That's right. Major airlines have been cracking down on canines and felines and virtually every other kind of creature over the last few years. It seemed like every flight had some kind of therapy animal on it often more than one one reason may have been that passengers were reading highly publicized horror stories, but a handful of animals dying or being dangerously neglected in cargo holds rather than take their chances on putting their pets in cargo many began finding ways to get them certified as emotional support animals, at least of the airlines into some allergic. Passengers the trend began getting out of hand last January United made headlines when it. Prevented a woman from flying with her peacock, Dexter, not only did she wind up driving across country with Dexter in her lap. The picot gained nearly seventeen thousand Instagram followers. Some of whom were outraged by United's peacock provision, but others have flown with emotional support pigs ducks turkeys, and at least one traveller tried to fly with his marmoset. Yes. A miniature monkey there have been incidents of animals attacking passengers to the department of transportation received more than twenty three hundred complaints about flying service animals between twenty twelve and twenty sixteen that peacock incident a year ago seems to have ignited a movement though, and little by little airlines have been banning all those cuddly emotional helpers like jet blue which last June said sorry, no, more, pigs, ducks and other unexpected critters now things are getting even. More restrictive in December delta, nixed, any animal under four months old presumably that house training thing can be disturbing and banned all emotional support animals on flights longer than eight hours. Well, as delta goes so goes United in January United limited emotional support animals to only cats and dogs, and none of those little ones. Thank you very much. We're not quite sure. Whether any of the airlines could use their animal rules to gain a competitive edge, we suppose you might choose one that still lets you take your lizard. Or maybe you'd prefer the airline that says hell, no, we don't want your pet unless it's furry four legged and house trained. From wondering this business wars daily.
