We continue on on the rich Eisen show Mike Heller town audience guest hosting today all week long including tomorrow will wrap around on Monday as well as rich Eisen Chris Brockman Mike they'll to full take a little time away we understand that happy to be here and there is a lot to talk about now today we would have far more to have a conversation about if we were in an active sports world but Major League Baseball they were before all thirty teams playing in an opening day today tonight would be the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA tournament so you have plenty of options and we're always talking about the National Football League and that continues on its essentially unchanged the conversation certainly is on change right now Albert Breer of the MM QB charges on the rich Eisen show so it's a point you know we didn't know a month ago we had some inkling didn't know a month ago where some quarterbacks would end up fill that refer if Philip rivers obviously in Indianapolis Tom Brady with a surprise to some obviously in Tampa Bay what's the next shoe to drop Albert is it one of the existing cam Newton is a Janus Winston where's the next shoe to drop from the quarterback carousel well you know I I think guys who know how to use those ones has last year on campus Joe Flacco are probably facing a little bit more of an up hill climb here because thirteen percent quarterbacks any first if we get money if they have it and the team doctors can't get their hands on them it's so you know I think that creates sort of a challenging scenario for both of those guys other guys may have to wait you know that the I think the other two well maybe got the Janice was a probably a little bit you know here's your past her you all the question then becomes what are the natural way to fix it for them and you know I I think it's a okay like if James wanted to go and you know sort of re have to stock a little bit maybe he goes to Atlanta and backs up you know Pat Ryan where I know they they brought back they brought back bad shop but you know correct the the falcons look at that and say okay it's worth bringing in a competitive future the backup you have to go there really cut rate because they are very much cap space but that being natural convection and international connection for that's what that's crazy dot would certainly be Jacksonville where you know maybe he can say okay I'm gonna go back and play with my first coordinator J. group and if Gardner Minshew falls off track and all that maybe I could be there to pick up the pieces so you're just like it's it's a little weird so weird offseason generals yeah because for the first time I remember order supplies really you know while I wait quarterback again and right now it feels like the music stopping and those guys just simply don't have chairs and so they're gonna have to get creative in finding homes elder you also when you go through that that lineage there we're talking about potential landing spots you don't mention New England do you think that bill ballot check is good with what he has Brian horrors of backup Jarrett Stidham as his starting quarterback one zero cap space might that's the problem yeah I know and and I do think harder this offseason for them it's going to be resetting and rebuilt maybe the wrong word but I think it will be very least resetting like sort of a wild a while coming to I I think there was some thought the organization for twenty eighteen they got really old and that they needed recall of that thing is a lot of one goal that year and so you know I felt like okay you need to run out we run back if you've got a chance well it back and see if we get repeat and you know for a good portion of last year they look like they could be attracted to it and I think their age caught up with them a little bit so for the patriots I had a big piece is gonna be returning their finances in general getting younger and then restated their finances you know in particular the quarterback position they're carrying thirteen and a half million dollars of that money off Brady's all contract so I think they will you know you want to write that out and you know over the next you know couple years I think you know you just sort of tread water order back you see what you've got here instead of who they really like we've got Brian lawyers insurance policy if there's a cheaper options out there did you look it up they weren't you know what it talks about trading for Kyle Allen who wound up you know with the Redskins so they're cheap options like that out there maybe a previous job at one of those but the idea is to going to twenty twenty one a year from now with much a much clearer cleaner financial picture yeah you know maybe if you can hide your quarterback of the future a young guy then you know you create sort of an advantage for yourself a lot of teams have had that having your quarter of accuracy deals last year's obviously it's east of the eagle the ramp wrote that advantage all the way to the Super Bowl the last three years you know after the split in New England who has more pressure to prove that they can win again is it Tom Brady simply because he's years are winding down and like you just mention the patriots can be a little bit patient as to where they want to go with a quarterback next all right yeah I mean I guess I don't know I mean I think those guys are legacies are cemented you know I mean I I I still think you know no matter what happens here you know what we'll look back on Brady is the greatest quarterback of all time but the chances are we're gonna look back the greatest coach of all time and you know I I just think back to my childhood and I I never really felt like what happened with George Siefert you know what you see first try the wrong example could be one one after all it's been a but you know I don't think that that that Montana's legacy was changed at all by you know what happened in the city you know either way he made twenty of the title game there and I don't think you know where anybody looks at what go Wallace did at Stamford after you know he left the Niners I don't think anybody really sort of you know you have that as a as a big it's a big legacy piece for him either so yeah I think both those guys their legacies are cemented in the enhanced bill going forward share they both those guys are motivated by that because those guys are motivated to show what a big piece of the last twenty years they dance Bob yeah but I don't think that you know and they probably put pressure on themselves but I don't think what happens over the next few years ago to significantly change the way we look at the the guy Albert when we get four weeks from today that is the slated start of the NFL draft the opening round on that Thursday night four weeks from now should they go ahead do you think they will go ahead with it in its current format or might they adjust to take advantage of television opportunity and may be extended a little bit some have suggested they might I don't think so I mean I think that they think they've got it right now having a hard time on Thursday night Friday night and all day Saturday and go forward with that very creative with the you know sort of studio field head everything out I'll be interested to see what they do yeah yeah although I've been able to sort of create the right sort of additive only good really really good with attraction sars broadcasting and figuring out the right way to handle it all that good stuff I would say you know I I ate from your team perspective you know if if you ask coach is GM bay would much rather elite press pause on this like the rest of sports world press pause but the league is motivated you know as they always are by the opportunity it's a problem that the the only show in town the ratings of course will be I think incredible if we had that four weeks from now but there are very real concerns on the team started out there tonight look like you're making multi million dollar decision here and in some cases you know you're doing out players were your file in the pic complete whether it's the medical the interview any of that stuff there's a lot of you know since there are still a lot of work to be done there and so you know I think that the team see article one tear that's important how they produce all players that you know it's it's unfair to a certain degree like if you look at yeah I decided to take the two is out of the S. like look at like a a fifth or sixth round pick a guy who maybe was invited to the combine maybe had injury history college and he didn't have them I have no sense at all right now and so you know how our teams are looking back yet I mean you're willing to do the extra work on someone like Killa if you're tracking the top six or seven are you willing to do the extra work on the fifth or sixth round pick I I just think a lot of pride a look at that say you know we can't trust you know that his agents having us you know medical information will just throw this one out thank god for like some of the kids old further down the line really getting where where do you think the draft begins Cincinnati Joe burrow well the Redskins go yeah with the with chase I mean where does it begin who holds that power card I did the lines of Tory ultimately you know my sense is that the residents or stick around stick right where they are in draft age young age overlooking the bangles happens so there are three M. L. C. O. R. well that's a bit as far as the quarterbacks coach you know obviously lose a great chance of the next few weeks to build more pop that up but I need to and Justin Herbert have done a lot of positive things over the last couple of months and prove their standing in the eyes of teams and so yeah I think the lines are sitting there at three if they can legitimately say the Miami the Chargers you know teams further down the line if you wanna get a quarterback or sitting here Fauria and yeah the great thing about it for the four lines is yes charger the dolphins are hot on those quarterbacks they're going to have options to trade down and still wind up with an elite defensive player because yeah by all accounts that you know bye bye never talked about people over the last few months about this therefore only defensive players in the draft one of them's gonna be gonna chase young but Derek brown from from Auburn Jeff Okuda from Ohio state idea stems from clients and they only go down to five or six will wind up with one of those guys and you know all the extra capital we get promoted down and so I stayed alive they're really really good spot may be open for business over the next few weeks Albert how are you doing I mean I the NFL is not stop doing business right so your work continues but it's been different right are you doing okay yeah we're fine with that like honestly like I'm I'm I feel like a lot of other people like the biggest factors that on on on on the family is not a problem you know everything the teachers that about that was true you know really different like I you know it's the life I have my wife she has earned she she has turned into like kind of a quiet guy like pre K. teacher and yeah so that part of it's been interesting but I I mean all things considered you know seeing what's going on around the country I I you know we're fortunate yeah obviously I think like a lot of our time that's more I'm probably more concerned about my parents than anything else you're the right age but we've been we've been lucky so far and you know just trying the legend you know all those people who really know the talking about the talks Dr got you the world and you know trying to pay attention to the side of the building you are part to try to help everybody in the country get under control as quickly as we can Albert thank you we appreciate a little extra time with us be safe and we'll continue to follow what's going on through through your world top of page Mike I appreciate it Albert Breer and then Q. B. joining us on the rich Eisen show it you know I mean it's the interesting thing right at least in my opinion about the National Football League is they have been essentially unaffected right everything that you would do in the NFL at this time of year is being done with the exception of their inner workings yeah they're not able to go out and scout on pro days or to give players the the prodding and probing that they wouldn't physicals and they're not in their office is the NFL league and team offices all shut down two days ago but otherwise everything you would do in the NFL from our perspective from a writer's perspective from a coverage perspective John it's all happening as though nothing else has really changed yeah I think I said at the last two weeks and it seems like the NFL is just saving the sanity of sports fans because without them without the free agency we had last week without the Tom Brady's story line without the upcoming draft I I don't know what a lot of sports fans I mean I.
